In no particular order; 1) Victory Storm King 2) Pike IPA 3) Sierra Nevada Celebration 4) Brakspear Bitter (come on, I grew up there!) 5) St. Ambroise Stout Honorable mention; Grants Scottish Ale (before his brewery was bought out by Annheiser Bush), Sailor Hagar's bengal IPA, Victory Hopdevil, Sam ...

The best, closest venue for a choice of beers during the fest is the Bedford Academy. The food is better than most pub menus and they have a decent, though predictable, selection of beer. I'd pick the B.A. as it is only a half block from the Hyatt and the Four Seasons which are always festival centr...

I'm a big single malt fan. I have a modest collection of about 18 bottles, mostly Islay distilleries and of them mostly Lag's Bowmore's and Ardbeg's. I've seen the Glenora offering a couple of times but have avoided buying it as I've yet to read a reputable review OR taste it at a sampling event. Ca...

Glad to hear you liked Pike. I've ranted far too much on this board about their beer (IPA in particular). Seattle is a micro brew Mecca with so much variety and selection it really blows my mind. I miss it terribly. While Vancouver does have a somewhat limited number of beers available at the liquor...

Well this is exactly the good news I've been hoping for! Selfishly I could say that of course I think it will sell and of course you should put it in my local beer store but...I think an honest answer will be more useful to you. I think it CAN sell well but may need some time to find a market. It is...

Anyone heard anything concrete about this year's fest? It was early August last year but all the website says about this year is that it's yet to be scheduled. Best guess is around the end of August or beginning of September at a new location (too bad, I liked the Dunn Tire Park). I'm curious why it...

I would suggest any of the special vintage ales made by Brakspear yearly. They are in stone bottles with ceramic stoppers and are likely to age well. What makes this even more interesting is the possibility that (God forbid) Brakspear might stop making beer this year. However my last enquiry with Pe...
