Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Drank a kbs last night. Couldnt sleep. This is a very coffee forward beer, wonder how much caffeine it has. This has happened to me before with Founders Breakfast Stout. According to Founders, it has about 5% - 10% of the caffeine of a regular cup of coffee or 15mg of caffeine. A decaf coffee has 2...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Lots of KBS at Summerhill today. 335 bottles when the store opened and it looks like about 100 bottles sold before noon.

Summerhill and Forest Hill got a case or two in yesterday but it was sold out before noon today when I checked. Stock numbers on the website and app seem to be delayed by at least 4 hours. I'm sure it'll show up in much larger numbers shortly.

Re: Great Lakes

I thought Left Field's recent Vermont style IPA, Laser Show, was a lot closer to a New England style IPA than GLB's Meanwhile... Down in Moxee. It's a great IPA regardless.

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

I emailed Founders about 20 minutes ago about KBS at the LCBO and got a reply already. Thanks for your interest in Founders! We are excited to come back to Ontario and bring KBS and All Day to the LCBO to get things going. Regarding the KBS product, our international business has a separate batch of...

Re: Saturation? Maverick Brewing

From the article...
...a 400-seat restaurant with patio, retail store and private dining space.
The brewpub will be situated as part of a new residential development at 115 Bathurst.
Sounds like a recipe for a NIMBY disaster.

Re: Vermont

I didn't much like the Lake Placid Brewery. The best selection I found in town was Liquids and Solids at the Handlebar. They only have a few taps, but a good bottle list. I found the food to be a little expensive and frou frou, so we had a snack there, then popped across the street to Lisa Gs for s...

Re: Vermont

I am likely going to be driving to Vermont for a bachelors party in April. I was thinking of trying to head there from Toronto through New York. Any suggestions on a route and any good beer spots on the way in New York? Also, should I take a route through New York, any thoughts on how long the driv...

Re: Barncat Artisan Ales, Cambridge

I've never tried Trillium or Treehouse's beers, but Barncat's Pulp was indeed delicious. I'm glad I drove down from Toronto last weekend to buy a growler. Pulp is super deserving of this praise. I hope it returns soon.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Odd that the Stone RIS is listed now? The 2017 version comes out end of March in the states.. and the lcbo is always months behind. Are we getting the 2016 version? I'd put my money on it being from 2016. The Goose Island Gillian (mistakenly) released at Summerhill LCBO is from the February 2016 bo...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Count me in as another person really excited for KBS, especially considering the 12oz bottle. Do you have any insight into which LCBO locations are most 'beer-centric' or have the best traffic/sales/interest in craft beer? I mean, we can all likely think of a few, but I'm curious if it's something t...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Don't bother going to Sunmerhill for Gillian. The price is $34.95 and it's been pulled from the shelves. I tried to buy two bottles and the cashier confiscated them, took them to the beer guy and said "I got two more for you" before he took them into the back. They've realized their mistak...

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

On the subject of Kentucky Bastard, I would be far more willing to spend more $/per ml if the format was different. A 750ml bomber is just far too big, which has been mentioned before. I've been buying a ton of Ten Fidy... a) it's delicious and b) the smaller can format is perfect for that beer's AB...
