Those mussels sound awesome, I can sensorily imagine your dinner! Not great at descriptive ratings, but the Schofferhofen Hefeweizen was fine, it tasted light and seemed a bit hoppy-bitter (I tend toward a rounder fuller Weizen with a tart citrus aspect and more banana/clove expression.) Looking for...

Summer Release notes

So, what do you think of the Summer Release beers you've tried so far? :D

Comparing Montreal to Toronto really depresses me,,, It's much more European out in the Belle Province isn't it. But take heart in the gradual evolution of Ontario tastes. Our parents here used to have little real wine available, now the masses rush to LCBO for the latest raves and good-quality bar...

Always regretted not trying the Sam Smiths... and I can drink up the Rogue I was holding on to as well.

Excellent stuff, Peter.

King Brewery Date-labelling question

Wanted to try the Dark, written on the case in pen is 03052005.

Anyone know, was this beer made in early March or May, and is it likely fresh? (It wasn't refrigerated but the store was relatively cool.)

Thanks!

Any suggestions as to which Burlington location is a good choice for micros? The Beaches store at Woodbine carries just Hockley & Mill Street & a few others - the selection NEEDS your IPA added to it, here or at the other smaller Beaches store. I think this is an area that the LCBO under-es...

Cooper Street will have a bunch of inventory Tuesday. There, I've cursed my chances of getting any. :D

Probably Summerhill too, hasn't had any yet though.

You see, Peter's the good guy here, give the man a break! And if any of you were looking for the Saison at Cooper St. store, check this: BeerBistro snapped up what remained of 3 cases the day it came in (it all went in six hours, depriving me of a taste yesterday I might add, harrumph!) You can enjo...

I see. So are those 75 cases part of what the LCBO originally intended for consumers? Or did you tack 75 cases on to the original order? Essentially, does this mean there'll be less Dupont in the system for us consumers than the LCBO originally intended? -Josh If I may leap here in Josh, we all kno...

Where will I be able to get a case of the Saison without depriving the whole neighborhood? Based on Peter's note, there are 225 cases for the 600 LCBO stores. Hmmm... constant complaints from Peter that we don't buy enough of the seasonals Supply and demand must agree with respect to each item. The...

Move quick on the Saison Dupont as I'm buying 75 cases right off the top and that's 1/4 of the entire order. I've noticed some stores are getting tiny inventories of released products, 24 or less. Very odd system. Where will I be able to get a case of the Saison without depriving the whole neighbor...

Well "Dark Beer" is as much a vague category as "Light Coloured Beer" and I'm pretty undiplomatic so I call the bullshit of it. Preconceptions aren't facts, and there are a range of tastes in the 'dark' spectrum we can get to know. Hockley Dark (sold single 2.55) is styled after ...
