Best thing is to buy enough whole cases, not even think about it at the time, just do it! Especially with beers you know are versatile, long-aging, and taste good to you all year. (Orval - check check check...) I wouldn't necessarily buy cases of something I wasn't sure I really liked or was...

I may not go out and buy a case, but I will definitely pick up a few bottles. Then again, I said the samething about the orval and ended up buying 3 cases in singles over the course of a few months. Now its gone... I wish I bought more Orval when it was here. $3.50 for a bottle of that was a bargai...

Do we have any idea how much the Ola Dubh will cost? I'm assuming I'll at least try one of them once regardless of the cost, but they seem like they could be expensive.

I got a 6 pack of them from Costco a couple years ago. It was something like $20-$25.

If you like ST IPA & DFH 60min IPA, then I'd suggest trying Sgt Major's IPA from Scotch Irish Brewing. I'd sooner recommend Anchor Liberty Ale from San Francisco than that Sgt. Majors "IPA" Heritage is now making. The Anchor, though neither local nor an IPA (oxymoron?) has MUCH better...

I'm pretty sure I had a Stella when I flew on Porter last year. I agree it is an upgrade.

There isn't anything else available in Ontario that I'd classify as similar. Magnotta's True North IPA is a good bet. Not as bitter as the Southern Tier or Dogfish Head, but with some great hop flavour. I actually find it a better everyday drinker. Wait, is this available at The Beer Store? I shoul...

How does the Prima Pils compare with ST and the Dogfish Head 60? Like the Dogfish Head alot. It isn't an IPA, so it has way less of the hoppy taste. You may notice the hops more than some pilsners, but Prima Pils is still a pilsner. It is the best pilsner available at the LCBO though IMO. If you li...

I don't want to offend anybody here, but do some of the bad sleepers here also happen to be a bit sedentary? I find that I HAVE to be a bit active every day to maintain completely restful sleep. Best money ever spent - biking and (buy an iPod) walking are great, fun regular exercise. An hour or two...

This is a pretty good release. I'll probably buy either all or most of these to try them at least once and see if I should buy more. While there are a couple on that list, I wish they would have included more North American micros since there are some pretty awesome beers that we just cannot get her...

Since I was in Niagara-on-the-Lake for a couple days, I made a trip to Buffalo on Friday afternoon and stopped in at Premier Gourmet. I tried Southern Tier Mokah for the first time on Friday. I am absolutely in love with it. I wish I bought more then just one bottle. The 650mL bottle was probably to...

Re: Loony for Lime

It tastes real and you don’t have to go through the mess and fuss of buying lime. WTF? It is clearly easier to look all around town and call up many Beer Stores/LCBO's to find Bud Light Lime then it is to go to the nearest TBS/LCBO for Bud Light and the nearest grocery store for a lime! Then you ha...

I had a pint of this a couple days ago at C'est What. It was ok, but it was like a pale ale that was lacking in hop taste. I agree with The Great Gatsby that it could possibly use some dry hopping. I'd take this over many beers, but I probably won't buy again unless the recipe changes (or if I'm in ...

I had this at C'est What on Friday and I loved it. I won't give a detailed review because this was near the end of a solid night of drinking, but I remember there being a light sweet/fruity taste (almost like raisins or dates?) to go along with a really smooth finish. One of the better beers of this...
