It's truly bizzarre that the Goudenband brewery would lie about sending product - given that the LCBO is so painfully beaurocratic and hard to score any distribution with in the first place.

This analogy comes to mind: they hit the jackpot, then refuse to collect the winnings...

Re: Well, just back from another Premier run ...

... she handed me the dreaded yellow card ... Is this the key? When I was a kid it was common belief that the best way to get across the border with the least amount of fuss was to line up for a male border guard. It's politically-incorrect to think/say it today, but it wouldn't surprise me in the ...

La Fringante is never at the stores mentioned., you teasing bastards. :D All the beer restaurants seem to magically have it though, hmm...

The La Terrible is well worth the trip though.

That Jacobite Ale has a great reputation. I picked one up from my excursion to the sweet land of liberty (aka Buffalo), but I was saving it for a special occassion. Traquair has a good rep. It's great that you can try the one you have before ordering 24... too bad it's so hard to find a 'demo' bott...

I was there (Paris) a year ago this month and found the prices to be really steep. I have been there several times, but this time it really shocked me. In any café in the city, you get a Croque Monsieur ( basically a grilled cheese with ham) a tiny bit of salad and a 25cl "biere de café" ...

Sounds like quite the exclusive little stout tasting group going on (not unlike a "No Homers" Club)...the question remains, when do the rest of us and our hard earned $75 get to join in on the reindeer games? Get it at BeerBistro perhaps? Nothing wrong with Perry doing some advance promot...

Wow Stephen that does sound like a great value for the pleasure quotient.

I still can't get over this 'Oktoberfest in October' we have here though! :D Not knocking it though... just being a Bavarian snob.

The cocoa flavor. Perhaps they use cocoa bean shells from chocolate processing or something like that if brewing would extract the nice flavor. In the case of this flavored stout, I don't question Rogue's judgement at all. The proportion would be less than the ingredients preceding it in the listing.

Innis & Gunn Edinburgh Ale - very nice, has a tiny bit of a barley wine feel in the long, round body of it. And the cask finishing gives it an unusual whiff of a scotch-like finish. Yum, me like. Good cold weather bevvy.

I just think there should be prices inclusive of everything and dispense with all the pretentious 'numbers game' bullsh-t. If it's what you're going to pay in the end, just CALL it in the beginning, taxes & service & all built in right there in the menu price. This will probably scare off so...

Arkell Best Bitter or County Ale. I found the bottled Arkell rather lacking in character (not that I'm an expert on BBs, just my own impression!) But I'd try either those you mention if I saw it on draught. In fact, I never write off a beer before trying it a few times bottled and/or draught. I thi...

The Okocim is welcome simply because it is one of the few if not the only dark East European beers available here. It is good with a true porter taste and the brown colour is closer probably to that of 1700's porters than many porters today. I believe it is a Baltic Porter, which is a different thi...
