Like many have stated I hope this will get the LCBO to list other top beers more often. SAQ has Chimay Blue and Rochefort 10 consistently, why can't we get these more often in Ontario? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on this forum that Chimay Blue, Rochefort 10 and Orval are becoming permanent lis...

The amounts to add would depend on the body and current flavour profile of your stout. Having said that, I think if you add 2-3 oz. of ground coffee beans (of a robust variety), and 1-2 split vanilla beans, and let that infuse for about 1 week, you will likely achieve your desired result. The base ...

Adding coffee and vanilla to stout
I have an oatmeal stout ready to bottle, but I'd like to add some coffee and vanilla to it. I'm thinking of doing a cold steep for the coffee and adding at bottling time... can anyone recommend how much to use for a noticeable, yet subtle coffee flavour for a 23 litre batch? Also - I have some vanil...

According to the LCBO employees I just spoke to 2 minutes ago at the Front/Sherboune LCBO... all Deus the LCBO is getting has been spoken for. They were dangling a case in front of me at the store, that is being held for someone else... most likely one of you Bar Towelers. If anyone would sell me a ...

I didn't really talk much about what beers they serve... I have lots of pics on my phone that I'll post when I figure out how. But this is a good indication of what they have...this is their current tap list as of the last hour: What's on TAP Allagash White, Confluence and Curieux Ballast Point Scul...

Mekong - Richmond, VA
I have been meaning to post something here about Mekong in Richmond, VA since I visited in February, but it continually slipped my mind until this: http://www.craftbeer.com/pages/news-and-events/news/show?title=craftbeer-com-readers-select-the-countrys-favorite-beer-bars#mekong My wife and I drove d...

I find that freshness can be an issue with a lot of the bottle shops in Quebec... without dates on bottles you have no idea how long stuff as been there. This is very true. My wife picked up two or three of the single hop Charlevoix IPAs when she was in Quebec City on business a while back. She had...

The amount of grain you are mashing is incredibly small, and will likey make very little difference. When you look at %, don't go by weight, go by potential...

Thanks for your replies.. I switched the vienna to munich... here's what I'm thinking for some sort of Rye APA: 5 gallon batch - half boil. Adding the 2 lbs of DME with 5 minutes left in boil, adding the 3.3lbs of LME at start of boil. Mash rye and munich for 45-60mins at approx 150deg. 3.3 lbs Pale...
