LCBO lame on German beers?
Is it just me (as a lover of German beers) or is the LCBO buyer biased towards British ales....or maybe it's easier to import from there. We see Adnams, Deuchars, Wells, Boddington, Tetley, Wychwood, Fuller's, Bass, Belhaven, St. Peter's, Mckewan's, Newcastle, Marston's....all with a selection of th...

Re: dogfish/rogue
Geoffrey and I got to try a lot of these for the first time in Denver a few weeks ago and I did as well during my visiit to Rogue 3 weeks ago...we're looking forward to everyone's reaction to any of these that you haven't tasted before so post those reviews! When can we expect to see them in LCBOs?...

In general, IMHO, Old Credit is a marginal brewery on a good day. This was my attitude going into the tasting of this OC Pilsner...I had a Steam whistle and a Neustadt lager in the same tasting for comparison. I found the OC to be a fresher tastier beer and was pleasantly surprised. I realize it do...

Is Old Credit Pils underrated"
From my RB tasting notes: 650 mil bomber: Unpasturized. Poured very pale straw color...1 finger white foamy cap from a hard pour..fairly well carbonated......dissipated to a surface lace and sticky ring...nice subdued floral hop nose...some sour apple fruit notes. Starts brisk..fair malt and hop dep...

This Fuller offering is stark with delicious pronounced flavors...truly a great ale.....one that may have been over looked is the St. Peters summer ale which is a bit of a surprise.....very complex, 6.5% AVB, layered aroma and tastes...but understated and in a cask styled presentation (low carbonati...

I haven't been too fussy about the rogue imperial but this chocolate stout hit the spot and was verrrry drinkable....to me a hardy, high gravity or high hop beer is not overly useful unless it's drinkability is there. Thick, alcoholic big beers are nice....if you want a beer and not a few. Rogue did...
