Hopefully the good stuff is enjoyed before the liquor inspectors kick down the door.

Re: Molson Buys TDD

Taste being subjective not only person to person but through time as well, I’d argue Creemore was a”really good Canadian craft brewer” when they were purchased. And let’s not forget Unibroue! Touché — I forgot about Unibroue. I like Creemore but I'd put them below TDD as they have a limited style r...

Re: Molson Buys TDD

Wow indeed. Must have been a nice offer. As far as I can tell this marks the first really good Canadian craft brewer to get gobbled up.

Norseman

I finally cracked open the bottle of Bush Pilot Norseman that's been hiding in the corner of my fridge for 3 years. Lots of sweet, malty, fruity notes: raisins, apples, bread and molasses. Still some alcohol heat. I'm sure some of the sweet flavour comes from the brandy barrels, but it was hard for ...

Junction Black Lager is really nice. Lots of smokey roasty goodness. Let it warm up.

Re: Cask Days 2017

In the past they held back beer. Didn't do that this time. They've gone back and forth on this. This year there were about a dozen casks on the lists which were to be tapped on Saturday. However, I was able to get pours on Friday. I've been to the Saturday sessions before and it's always slim picki...

It's becoming an annual tradition, the Christmas beers hitting shelves before much of the fall release.

Re: Cask Days 2017

Another great event. I was at session 1 for this first time and I don't think I'd do it any other way for future events. Only once did I order a pour from a cask that was finished. Standout Cask: Cascade Bourbonic Plague.

Re: Cask Days 2017

I was also wondering about that. It's going down to 6 degrees tonight. So hopefully if they keep them out of direct sunlight, the casks should stay cool throughout the day sessions.

Re: Cider

Picked up a bottle of JK's Northern Neighbour Farmhouse Cider and it's really tasty. It's dry with intense apple notes, mildly tart, very refreshing. A great fall drink. Also ranked #30 on Ratebeer's top cider list.

I'm loving the Rye King. Foreign Extra Stout is one category I've definitely neglected.
