This was our day too. Fresh picked cascade hops into a 15 gallon wet hop ale. I think we used a little over 2 lb total of cascades (wet) and a bit more centennial.

Does the person at the LCBO that puts these releases together know about these issues? I would think its part of their responsibility to ensure the stores are properly notified and trained on these releases, and to put together appropriate marketing material to help advertise and push the products. ...

Can't comment on the spigot, as I bought one without it and one of the people I brew with added one.

As far as the store, I recently bought a burner and pot from them, and they were great to deal with, and shipped things out fast.

I agree that the majority of stores would likely carry mainly macro product, but you will also get those few stores in each city that fill their shelves with private order products not available at the LCBO. Demand would drive supply/availability.

When they did the private order last year, it came out to about $3.55 a can, so $2.95 seems reasonable.

I am in the exact same situation, but in Cambridge, Ontario. If anyone in this area is looking for some green PET bottles, free to a good home (or will trade for homebrew :)

would be an interesting experiment to brew a recipe several times, at say 100, 500, 1000, 2000 IBU hopping, then do a taste comparison.

What does NAFTA have to do with beer sales in Ontario? Didn't realize there was more then just a change in legislation needed to allow other venues to sell beer.

What could possibly shift things for these beer boutique stores would be having draft taps and doing growler fills. Imagine if you could go into one of these stores and select from a dozen or so seasonals, one offs, and special imports.

Maybe if enough people write to them, they will consider it.

I already sent that off to North American Craft the night it happened. But really, what can they do. The beer store can pretty much dictate their terms and treat the craft brewers like crap becuase the only other option is to try to get listed at the LCBO, which seems like a long hard process.

And its not just the public that doesn't know the craft brews are there. I went into my local beer store a few weeks back after seeing it listed as carrying the Paddock Wood 606 IPA. Didn't see any on the 'wall of beer' while waiting in line, asked the guy at cash if they had it, and he says never h...

Bayou Classic pots/burners in Canada

Tracked down this place that sells Bayou Classic in Canada (located near Sarnia). Prices are very reasonable, and free shipping in Canada. http://www.canadiantreasureseekers.com/ They were great to deal with and shipped things out fast. Just ordered a KAB6 burner and a 102qt (~25Gal) pot. Will be gr...

My palate has always preferred the flavour of refreshing to cold, but I think this super cold may changet that.

Can these labels be removed and reused? I think I have been drinking my bottles of rochefort 10 too warm, and missing the super cold goodness I could be enjoying.
