I had a Wellington County Ale, or dark, or whatever they're calling it last night at C'est, from the cask. It was really good - a lot different from the last version I had. Much more malt and an almost molasses sweetness. The inconsistency of their beers is what gets me - the RIS and Iron Duke seem ...

I tried it yesterday at the Dominion on Queen - not my style but it was pretty good. Btw, the Dominion has really picked up their beer choices. Usual suspects, but also one offs like the Beechwood, Ten Bitter, etc. Sean plans 2 or 3 rotating taps as well and usually has a cask going.

Neustadt - The Sour Kraut

Anybody tried this? I found it at The Rebel House this week. I'm not that familiar with sours but I really enjoyed this one, soured with raspberries according to the website. 4%, very quaffable.

Argh. Reading all these replies about great beer choices in the U.S. frustrate the hell out of me, given the shitty choices we have at the RC. I mean, I saw a Mad Tom empty in the Lansdowne subway Friday night - craft beer is everywhere!

I am surprised there isn't better selection at Jays games. I mean I get that whichever brewer is in there probably has a ton of power to wield when it comes to getting exclusive rights. But at the same time, the food service company that manages all the concessions is probably also a huge company w...

Welly Imperial Stout

Nice - hot off winning a couple of awards for their RIS, they announced on Facebook that it will be a full time release at the LCBO starting this summer.
I like that.

What an awesome place. Went last night and we had the Witchshark, Dubbel and Saison. Delicious. Friendly staff, not too crowded (last night, anyway) and a stumble across the rail tracks to get home!

Take this with a grain of salt, but a Rhino bartender told me Monday that they'll soon have Peche on cask. Word.

Ha! the 15 minute wait at the Rhin'ole doesn't surprise me- I bet I know who the bartender was. Same thing for me last week. And the hipsters probably stared because they hadn't seen an adult since the last time they went home for dinner. Which was the night before, most likely.

by the way, they have bourbon barrel-aged Peche Mortel on tap. :) Unlikely... considering Ratebeer lists 4 places for availability of that beer, two of which are DDC and the DDC brewpub, the other two are Volo (Cask Days after party), and Blind Tiger in NY... Rather impressive if true though... Sti...
