Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Noticed Flying Monkey's Stereovision showing on LCBO site but no stock yet, or any description. What is it? I would check the brewery site if it wasn't such a pain to use.

Private owners have far more incentive to enforce age restrictions than the LCBO or Beer Store. How do you figure that? A private owner makes more money by selling to underage kids. A LCBO employee makes no extra money selling to underage kids. A bar owner - and the hypothetical private store owner...

Except I totally get the feeling that if they start selling Vodka at 7-11 people are going to freak out. Yeah, and "social responsibility" in and of itself doesn't have to be a bad thing. There's a difference between thinking a skull bottle is too offensive or explosive beer packaging, an...

Strange to see The Publican in Peterborough on the list. It is a brewery with a plan to open a brewpub next door. They have a patio, but no food.

But I can't complain, our little town has 2 on the list!

Where's the Paulaner?

I want some Paulaner! St. Veronus in Ptbo used to have it on tap and was delicious. Last month it was on sale at lcbo and now I see they have bonus airlmiles for buying it. But there is hardly any stock, some random stores have a small supply. I even tried to buy it at TBS. Anyone have an idea if th...

Converted my cooler for use a mash tun, bought a turkey fryer from Bass Pro, picked up a 30L pot from CT for a boil kettle (doing 25L batches is a bit nervy), bought a 2 roller Crankenstein, fabbed up a sheet metal hopper for the mill and a 25' copper coil for an immersion chiller and I think I was...

Does anyone still do the bucket-in-a-bucket? It seems there are better ways that are fairly cost-effective: 1) Brew-in-a-bag (though personally I'd get a turkey frier and take it outside) 2) Convert a rectangular 'cooler' for simple batch sparging I made a manifold for my cooler, but basically just...
