I've been told they have cleaned up their menu and by extension, I hope, their beer. They are even running radio commercials now that focus on their beer. Which is a change from previous years when you could walk into any of their locations and not even find one of their own beers on tap, or worse, ...

While I wish I could have attended, I am thrilled that this event went so well for Ralph and the gang at Volo - everyone I know who went had a great time.

I picked some ST Porter up recently and enjoyed it. Not in the class of the other beers TJ mentioned at all, and not in the class of the big ST brews, but a decent brew I enjoy.

Thanks for the info! His first two books are terrific and I was waiting for this one to be released here - I'll be picking it up ASAP.

100 likely has to do with a capacity issue Lister - so if it is full, you would have to wait for people to leave. Just a guess.

Thanks, one and all. I have a bit of time tomorrow afternoon, so will seek out recommendations. I'm accustomed to places with not much beer, even though I've just walked in from the Victory -- it's easy to forget how spoiled we've become in Toronto. I was talking with Ralph last night about his for...

Don't go to the Huether or Gold Crown, unless you enjoy shitty service and mediocre-at-best beer. Agreed on the beer, but not on the service. I know you had a bad experience there Jesse, but I go once/week with the family for brunch a pint and I have had some of the quickest service in town. I stil...

Dragon's Breath Pale in Kingston yesterday was really great.
Is that cask or keg Belgian? It has not been in good form the last few times I have been there - I've started just ordering St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout when I go there, as I do really like the atmosphere and food in that pub...

Hi Nick. That might have been me, I saw you at Victory a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately with The Castle now closed, we are severely lacking. The best in the area is the Golden Kiwi in Cambridge by far. In KW itself, we have some pubs with a few decent taps (The Kickoff is the best I have come ac...

I'm not sure I understand the fascination with people wanting every single beer to be available in every single LCBO, or every area of Ontario. We live a in Province bigger than most countries, yet we insist small locally made craft brews must be delivered to LCBO's from Ottawa to Windsor. Half the ...

Thanks for the info Troy. Ralph will never keep everyone happy with ticket sale dates - especially on this site! - but it is a wise move to move the date from Thanksgiving Sunday.

With so many sessions and a no ticket needed Sunday, there is going to be plenty of cask beers for everyone.

Sadly this will be the first one I miss - that's the start of deer hunting season. Have fun everyone, I do not want to hear anything about it :) .

Best of luck to Ralph and crew for another successful best beer event in the city.
