Going to try to grab some Skeleton Key this week, anyone have an idea of what the stock looks like? Any chance it holds out until later this week?

Belgian wrote:^ I agree Liam but some LCBO's get all persnickety and put up little notes on the shelves saying 'sold as six pack only' etc. It really depends.

For my buck, Anchor is an excellent session porter well worth buying six of.
It's definitely a store-dependent phenomenon.

Any "open" six-pack is eligible to be split up into singles.

they dont make a bad beer, one of the best breweries out there IMO
I'd put them in my top 10 Northeast/New ENgland breweries for sure. All great beers.

But did they smell/taste fresh?

I'd argue if they don't smell/taste fresh, they're already old.

This stands next to Pumking for me in terms of quality. In a different class from anything else available in our market I'd say.

Yeah - most consistent cask, too. Their "regular" IPA (not Hopping Mad) on cask is next to perfect.
As good as it gets in Toronto, for what it is.

Flying Monkeys Paranormal Imperial Pumpkin Ale

Fantastic. Heavy cinnamon/pumpkin pie spice, well done pie crust, and caramelized pumpkin flesh. One of the best pumpkin beers I've had in a long time.

Flying Monkeys has missed the mark a few times as of recent, but for a pumpkin ale, this is a home run in my books.

at 4.2% abv I find harviestoun bitter & twisted is a nice session option. unfortunately, and to Belgian's point, $3.50 may be an issue for some. Sell me a quality mild for $10 for a 4 pack of tall boys and I'll buy it. I think that's a reasonable cost. my homebrewed mild cost me about $7 for 5 ...

Parallel 49 Snap Crackle Pop Imperial Rice IPA showed up at my local this week. Case was dated Exx14, (can't remember what the xx's were, but they were in the 10-20 range), indicating that they were bottled back in May.

Avoiding like the plague.

Sort of. I am visiting just outside of Toronto for another 2 weeks or so. I will see what Granite have to offer, but I tend to go for diversity rather than large quantities of one beer, so growlers is not my best bet. I appreciate the hint regardless :) Granite does the best English style ales in T...
