2016 Ormes de Pez, St-Estèphe
2016 Château 2016 Chateau Ormes de Pez, St-Estèphe (Bordeaux) A big full Bordeaux red with weight, right now showing a lot of dark berry and blackberry, a little spicy oak and sandalwood. The tart and dense cherry comes out with some oxygen, and this wine can take some more air (or more cellaring) ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Liefmans goudenband........ Not really a new arrival, but a new price? $32.00 a bottle $384.00 a case 14% ABV. I'm confused is this the Flemish sour brown ale we have had before or a higher octane version or a LCBO mistake? https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/belgian/liefmans-gou...

Godspeed brewery store
There will reportedly be more Baby Svetly on 29 June… Wow, this Godspeed Nachmelený is one of the best DIPA I’ve tasted… and it’s not entirely typical as it is a Czech Double IPA. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/591cabac9de4bb5b8e3a1322/1623159950120-Q4QYEB6D2YOPG9DHN0O7/ke17ZwdGBToddI...

Chateau Meyney 2017 Saint-Estephe
Chateau Meyney 2017 Saint-Estephe Certainly glad I tried this one, a straggler (abandoned Futures wine?) found at Cooper Street LCBO. Both 'chalky' tannins and silkiness, with a solid curtain of black fruit - cassis and blackberry, plum and cherry. Some light oak, spice, full on persistent flavors....

Barros 10-Year-Old Tawny Port
Barros 10-Year-Old Tawny Port
This is a powerful drink. Black dried fruit, caramel, subtle layers and looong flavors. Nutty dryness is pleasant. Expect to feel the punch but it's not too hard on the palate at all. Nice contrast to the Burmester I've often enjoyed.

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation
If you grab a carafe, do a high-pour into that thing and shake it around... might expedite the oxygen getting in that juice! That's life... nothing good is easy.Craig wrote:[but what am I gonna do? Not drink? C'mon.

Check with LCBO website when traveling
Yes, the LCBO 'Controls Liquor' in all of Ontario, even determining the policy by which you're allowed to legally bring across (and declare at) the border.
So any degree of LC store involvement, or not is sort of a side issue.

Rémy Ferbras Terre de Mistral Plan de Dieu Côtes du Rhône-Villages 2017
Rémy Ferbras Terre de Mistral Plan de Dieu Côtes du Rhône-Villages 2017 Here's a nice, everyday CDR red with a classic blend of grapes. Definitely little better than the cheapest stuff as from Chenet. Côtes du Rhône is a great solid go-to for value & quality (I think this wine should really be ...

LM & LC in cahoots?
I tried this tonight: https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/red-wine-14001/bollato-di-guarini-negroamaro-primitivo-2018-17884#.YHzfAYZE2Nw ... but the glass I had well after, after it had been breathing for maybe 3 hours, was quite good. It has a nice cherry, plum and tobacco thing...

Mas des Bressades Cuvée Tradition Rouge 2018
Mas des Bressades Cuvée Tradition Rouge 2018 This is a very respectable Southern Rhone red blend (55% Grenache and 45% Syrah) that has some youthful approachability as well as some solid depth. I like the dark berry and damson plum fruit and wild herbals... good dry tannins and acid structure. Cost...

Selbach-Oster Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese 2016 38- This was at a discount, a fairly heavyweight German Riesling grape wine with a late harvest selection for added density and ripeness.
