Stratford Porter
Had a pint of this last night at C'est What?, it was very nice.
It's very dark, rich, complex, the smokey/roasty flavors really come through, and it leans more towards the bitter than the sweet, especially in the finish. Well done!

Toronto Wine & Cheese Show - March 24-26th
Ok, Ok, I know by the title of the show, it doesn't appear to be a BEER event, and most certainly isn't exclusively so, however, I know that many who are into Beer are also into Wine, other spirits and cheese -AND- a look through the Exhibitor list for the show (http://www.towineandcheese.com/exhibi...

This is super news, more Cask Conditioned Ale in Toronto is excellent... I've not had the pleasure yet to visit the Victory, but now that I know where it is, I'll be sure to drop in, appears to be quite easily subway accessible, just a block away from Bloor/Bathurst... Here's a Google Map for anyone...

In terms of lobbying in a friendly way for better LCBO relations, would it be a difficult matter to establish criteria for special orders, establish more likely sources like was mentioned about California and also do some collective purchasing through this web site? It strikes me that the Opimian S...

The Gift Set includes a glass with the Barley Wine for $10, in a nice-looking cylindrical package. Not bad actually, for the holiday hit list of casual friends. Has anyone been able to find this so-called giftset yet? Just an FYI, I was at the LCBO on Front St, on the south side just West of St. La...

My 2 cents: If you're not interested in keeping the bottle full as some sort of souvenier, then I'd say crack it open, pour it into a glass, and I think the aroma alone will probably give you a really good indication as to whether it's drinkable or not, my guess is it would be pretty nasty, not sure...

Sierra Nevada will not sell to the LCBO as the brewery demands refrigerated transportation, refrigerated warehouses and refrigerated retail displays...the LCBO will not guarantee #1 or #3 and cannot do #2. Peter - You've misunderstood my post, I was sticking up for the LCBO based on a past experien...
