Re: Napanee Beer Company
Was there last weekend, spent quite a bit of time shooting the breeze with the brewer/owner. Nice enough guy, although he was awfully quick to tell me he had the most homebrew awards of anyone in Canada (or something like that). Agree with all the comments above, the beers were pretty solid all arou...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
new Beyond The Pale Aromatherapy IPA LCBO#: 483388 | 473 mL can $4.50 pricey for a local ipa. Karma citra at 3.25? I thought their plan was just Ottawa distribution for now? Also, isn't it a flat $4 at the brewery? If so, I guess for those who can't make it down to the brewery the extra $.50 makes ...

Hasn't this been out since spring? I think the Good Ship Fresh has sailed.

Re: Nova Scotia
If the weather holds up you may get lucky and have the Stillwell beer garden still open at the top of Spring Garden Rd.
Battery Park is open now in Dartmouth. You can take the Welfare Harbour Cruise aka ferry, across the harbour, it's just a few blocks up from the terminal.

Re: Vermont
Was in the area twice in the span of a month and first time in there was Foley stuff by the truckload at Winooski, but not much anywhere else. Not much Frost around anywhere. Second time, Frost stuff all over the place, but not much as much Foley. YMMV Hunger and CBC had the most Frost beers the sec...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
I am certainly worried that, if a high percentage of online orders end up coming back as partials, the whole program gets cancelled or scaled back significantly. I'd certainly like to believe that, instead, it would lead to them changing to a partial order model, but I'm not optimistic.

Re: Vermont
Stowe Beverage. Hunger Mountain Coop in Montpelier is also a big beer stop. Think Whole Foods. There's also a grocery store in Richmond, about half way between Burlington and Waterbury. I picked up SOS there last time. And of course craploads of spots in Burlington. Winooski Bev, Healthy Market, wha...

Re: Advice for Toronto to Vermont road trip
Ferry is fun, but definitely longer drive. There are a few cool little breweries now in Plattsburgh though, if that floats your boat. If you go the Kingston route the fastest way is to cross Montreal via the 30, and then head south towards I89. Border could be a bit busy depending on day. Cornwall w...

Re: Advice for Toronto to Vermont road trip
Syracuse is very solid. Blue Tusk, J Ryan's, Clark's, Dinosaur BBQ, Beers of the World out at the mall. Lots of good beer there.

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread
About a year ago I spent some time with a GI QC lab guy out of Chicago at a Migration event in DC. Was talking about how their big beers are mostly brewed off site now and were talking about the stuff being done out of Canada (Mtl?). Anyway, he was telling me that once or twice a year (I forget the ...

Re: Prince Edward Island
Ok, feedback from a local beer geek: Breweries: PEI Brewing Co worth a visit. Upstreet: tasting room is cool. Barnone (in Rose Valley not Charlottetown) Pub: Best pub (for his money) in C-town = Churchills. New bar called Hopyard (he hasn't been yet), sounds cool. Apparently Barnone often have bands...

Re: Vermont
I had one of the IPAs and IIPAs, both were really, really good. I had the House of Fermentation Pink Dot as well, also really good. As with everything in life, YMMV. It's too bad your experience wasn't good though. For sure in my case I wouldn't hesitate to head back a second time. I also forgot to ...
