Thanks for the feedback Spab. I suspected Rose and Crown was a macro place based on their website. Maybe my search for a solid place with good beer and live blues/rock is somewhat of an oasis in the desert. I realize finding a pub with micro beer options and live blues or rock is an elusive combinat...

Good Pubs with live blues or rock music?

Hello everyone, I'm hoping to get some advice in my quest to find a good pub that has live blues and/or rock music downtown on a saturday? I am going out on a pub crawl for my stag on saturday july 25th and wanted the last stop on the crawl to be somewhere with decent beer and live music. I will be ...

I really like this beer as it seems like a tasty cross between an american ipa and an esb. If my memory serves, Rogue refers to this as an "Imperial ESB" on the side of the bottle. I think that desciption fits.

Thanks for the Belgium tips guys...I realized that there was another thread that also covered hotspots in Belgium. If there is any advice on Munich or Bamberg, it would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Munich, Bamberg, Brugge, and Brussels.

Hi guys, in september I will be travelling to Europe and making stops in Munich, Bamberg, Brugge, and brussels. It goes without saying that as a beer lover, this is a dream trip, especially being able to attend Oktoberfest in Munich for a few days! I am doing my own research, but I would appreciate ...

I was at West 50 on Thursday night and found out from Erin that Denison's weissbier will NOT be on tap unfortunately. I had posted last week that it would be a go based on the info at the time. She said she spoke to Micheal Hancock and thought it was a go....but he turned West 50 down in the end for...

In regards to the topic of beers on tap, I received a list of beers that are being changed at West 50. Once again, this list came from Erin, a friend that is also the bar manager. She has asked me for suggestions on beers a few times. Anyways, they are removing some slower moving beers and replacing...

I have been to the West 50 on three occasions now and I have been very impressed with the food, beer selection, and the layout. In fact, I mentioned having a "true ipa" recently, suggesting that Scotch Irish Sargent Major would be ideal. I was there on Wednesday and they now have stuck a r...

Well, although I have no affiliation with 50 West Pour House, once again I am friends with one of the managers. I have not really discussed the list with her in recent months. But after seeing the list for the first time just now I realize there is a good number of quality beers on tap! Although we ...

This list of cask ales is the best list of beers I have ever seen for a local beer event. Despite last years tasty and creative variety of cask ales, Ralph has outdone himself with this year's list of beers. Its certainly encouraging to see these local brewers going way outside the box with this eff...

Hey fellow bartowelers, I am somewhat familiar with the idea behind this new place. I am a friend of the woman who will be the manager of this new place. She currently has been managing a place called Ten, a fairly apscale steakhouse/bar at Lakeshore/Hurontario. Over the summer, she asked me for a s...

I believe Ron (the owner) of the Granite has two licenses so he can sell growlers in a separate entrance on the side of the pub/restaurant. I realize its highly unusual to get cask take-out but it is certainly possible. In fact, a few Saturdays ago I had some friends over so I e-mailed Ron in advanc...

Just a heads up about the Special Best and IPA. These two beers are ONLY served in cask conditioned form. I buy growlers from Granite on a fairly regular basis from the take out side and they don't have those in the fridge because the only way to get those beers in a growler is to request to have th...
