Re: Redline Brewhouse - Barrie, ON
This thread got me thinking about Barrie breweries as I was planning on driving through the area. I just reviewed Barnstormer Brewery in the pub reviews if you have interest in that establishment for your story.

Barnstormer Brewing Company
I couldn't see a dedicated thread for a review so I've started one. This is a nice spot out in the middle of no where Barrie in a strip mall. The address is: 384 Yonge Street, off of the Essa Rd exit on the 400. They've made a nice spot in an utterly featureless strip mall, lots of barnboard and nic...

Re: Local 1794, 1794 Danforth
I live in the area and have been twice. Once was a big family affair so I got to see a wide range of the menu choices. I would agree that by and large, the food is well done. This is definately a neighborhood place, I saw a few of my neighbours out on date night so I think they have the level of cra...

Looks like Ottawa gets all the pies. 698 bottles of Orval showing for Rideau St.
I'm assuming that there are probably stores in the GTA that have stock. Please share if you know of one.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
But I've been putting it off because I've been waiting for Orval to roll out, and I know London is the only place near me that is likely to get any. Did I completely miss it, or is Orval still in the usual warehouse limbo (bar the Pickering incident)? I've been doing spot inspections of likely stor...

Re: Summerhill Growler/Craft Beer Destination Store
Agreed, the Mikkeller release was probably doomed to fail and was just a glib example. I had the pale ale and enjoyed it but felt that a fresh Crazy Canuck ran circles around it especially considering the pricing. What I do find interesting, no one is arguing the point that the LCBO should be equita...

Re: Summerhill Growler/Craft Beer Destination Store
I can see why the LCBO would be hesitant to handle product that doesn't sell. I think a good solution would be to: 1) Set up these stores in markets with proven product demand. 2) Set up an online store that people could order product to smaller stores (served from central warehouse). Viola! No Mikk...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I'm checking everyday for the Orval. As to Oast House pricing, I think their location in wine country is the cause of their pricing. If you have been driving around buying $20 bottles of wine, then $8 bombers may not seem expensive. I found Silversmith to be similar in pricing. Also, I think they ar...

Re: LCBO Summer Craft Beer Release 2015
I will be picking up some of the Death Valley. I've picked it up from BHH in the past and for the price it's good. My bottle had 1 1/2" of sediment in it from all the dry hopping so expect it to be bitter.

Re: Growlers at LCBO
I was under the impression that there were supposed to be specialty beer/wine/spirit stores. They would have the room for a growler fill station. Having said that, I'm sure that any growler program will be limited to pretested, agreed upon beers. It would be nice if there was local variation with di...
