Also, not sure of the date stamps - the box read "L1313" - so...it will be bottled this Friday? Many breweries skip "I" in the date coding because of the potential to confuse it with "1"; if Cameron's does as well, that means this RPA was bottled Nov. 13/13, which make...

Bellwoods' Grognard Session Stout is fantastic as well, and at 3.8%, truly sessionable. Will have to try the Simply Porter, sounds awesome. I find the Highlander Blacksmith a bit sweet, but not overly so. I kinda wish it had a bit more smoke as well. Nice, though.

Has anybody seen the Nutcracker Porter in Ottawa? No, but I'm beginning to feel like something strange is going on with this. Black Oak has posted (on Twitter) as late as the 25th that it's "coming very soon" to the LCBO. The blogTO article on local winter brews that was published today s...

Not on the 'BO site yet, but Nutcracker was on the shelves at Liberty Village tonight. Grabbed a couple bottles. 5.8% (stronger than I remember...?) and $5.95 for 650 ml.

And...according to: http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/but-not-simpler/2013/06/05/i-hate-to-break-it-to-you-but-you-already-eat-bugs/ The FDA’s limit on the hops that go into the kettle is 2,500 aphids per 10 grams of hops. Yup, up to 5% of the total weight of the hops can be bug. But it all comes...

Not 100% positive, but I'd guess it would be the use of isinglass (made from fish swim bladders).

Re: Headstock IPA

The current batch of Headstock IPA, canned on October 2, 2013 may be the best this this beer has ever tasted ( and smelled ) I got mine at the brewery, but some Burlington LCBOs have it. This beer has come a long way; In my opinion, it's one of the best IPAs we have in Ontario right now. I agree wi...

Stumbled across this via the Ontario Hop Growers FB page, news to me. The Ontario Beer Company (headed by Mike Duggan and Get Well's Brad Clifford) are launching 100 Mile Ale, made with 100% Ontario grown ingredients. Coming "soon" to the LCBO, 473 ml can. No word on price. (Slightly) mor...
