It is a shame that a reward system is in place, I had a similar discussion yesterday with the regional sales manager for Hillebrand Winery yesterday about how we require tipping as an incentive between the patron and employee to keep service in check. Also a shame. Personally I believe that there sh...

Finally just finished it, impressively long.

An excellent article referencing contemporary 'extreme beer' and using dogfish head as its example. For all that it is it provides a fairly balanced view of both the craft brewing market as well as the large scale industrial.

midlife,

I feel the same way about the dukel weisen and while it is a great winter beer in the fact that it goes straight from the glass to my belly, it doesn't satisfy my cravings for the style.

Plastic Keg

I'm on the hunt for a plastic keg (the style that looks well... like a roundish keg with a raised spigot), I can't seem to find one in Ontario, although they are popular in the UK. Looking to do some on the counter cask ale.

Anyone have one their willing to part with or know where I can get one?

A nice strong, full bodied IPA reminiscent of Granite, Garrison and Propeller.

I'd like to see Great Lakes pull out a nice porter as well.

I was also at Volo yesterday and they were very generous half-pints, unfortunately I was clever enough to not eat breakfast/lunch and drink 5 3/4 pints of beer.

In my mind i see it broken down like this. Let's take the assumption that there are 2 servers and one bartender, a dishwasher, a prep/pantry cook and a cook in a traditional toronto pub. a half pint = 2x more service from a bartender (if a second pint is desired) 2x more dishwashing, which in turn e...

I'm down with that Belgian, I can think of more than few places that serve a good pint that are big enough to house us.
