Re: Folly Brewpub
Tried the Ulla and really enjoyed it. Hopefully, this gets bottled in the future. Considering the response, it very well could. Right now it was just planned as a one-off. We have a bunch of beers in the hopper that we've already done pilot batches of that we're now rotating in as one-off brews in ...

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cbr5LXaWAAImWhO.jpg Updating the tap list for the good folk of the Bar Towel. Excited about ULLA! right now, our 100% Brett Black Ale (using Escarpment Labs Mothership 10-Brett Blend) that we fermented on raspberries. We'll have a new Rhizome beer (this one with Saphir/S...

Re: worst Ontario beer of 2015?
i know he posts here, but honest feedback's better than lying oh god oh god... phew. Anyway! For me it was a little beer called "The Wall" by Block 3. I've had some good beers from Block 3 (King Street Saison, for example) but The Wall should not have been released. "If Cheetos made ...

Re: Shillow Bitter Waitress
Tried from a can ...not very hoppy...I'm not a fan of black IPAs but thought I'd try this anyway. A bit of roasted malt, licorice notes, but just not my thing. Anyone know what yeast they use in this brew, as I found none of those fruity esters I associate with traditional IPAs. fruity esters and I...

Re: Untappd
I know it costs breweries $800/year to register themselves. I thought that was pretty pricey for a small outlet, especially considering they could sign-in with a personal account and monitor stuff that way. But it sounds like there's some really useful features. I use Untappd all the time and would...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery
About Bellwoods pricing, I think their special releases such as 3M2M, Skeleton Key etc are a steal. Something of that quality from the States would be so much more. But their everyday beer such as Jutsu and Wizard Wolf are too expensive to buy in large quantity (which is what I would want). Imagine...

Re: Shawn and Ed Brewing
Has anyone brewed a Jack's Abbey IPL in Ontario? Or even a good hoppy pilsner (like Firestone's Pivo or Victory Prima)? The early batches of Burdock's West Coast Pilsner were quite good. For some reason I was just thinking about cans... I pretty much drank a keg of Burdock's pilsner on my own last ...

Re: Shawn and Ed Brewing
as someone above said, it's not that we have too many lagers. we have too many SHITTY lagers. a really well executed hoppy lager or a very floral, yeast-forward Czech lager, or a barrel-fermented lager or, hell, doing what Jack's Abbey's doing? that's the shit i'd be all over. and that's what we're...

I understand the play on words aspect with "cask/task" force. Just can't stand the term and obsession with "cask" anything in the GTA. As for the Brewery District concept I was listening to a Toronto craft beer podcast and the co-host (who apparently owns or works at Left Field)...

Re: Toronto Brewery District
The thing is, it already is organic. Like, everyone already talks, just more one-on-one than in a group. Hops, malts, and equipment are exchanged/traded as needed. Could it be better organized? Sure. Something like an Ontario Brewers Guild with a Toronto Chapter (as is organized in the States) would...
