Re: Bellwoods Brewery
If I had more than a few infected bottles I'd definitely pursue a refund. Those beers ain't cheap! I'd email them and explain what happened, including how they were stored. Probably best if you have some sort of proof, receipt, empties or unopened bottles that are infected. If they are at all intere...

Re: Munich, Bamberg, Brugge, and Brussels.
Besides the obvious in Brussels (Cantillon and Moeder Lambic) I'd highly recommend Noordzee if you like seafood and outdoor dining. They have tables across the street in the square. Famous for razor clams, mussels, etc. In Munich I'd recommend visiting The English Garden and the Chinesischer Turm be...

Re: Omnipollo beers
I left with just a 4-pack of the Nebuchadnezzar as most of the other stuff failed my freshness/price investment criteria. Kinda with I got more Neb.midlife crisis wrote:While you were there, did you also happen to try, or purchase, any "Hazy Mariner" NEIPA?

Ditto at my local Great Canadian Superstore. This is an inevitable purchase when I shop there.midlife crisis wrote:I note FWIW that Clifford Porter seems to be available more or less all the time at Loblaws (at the least the one I frequent).

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Beau’s Wag the Wolf. I remember this one being good, but drinking this current LCBO batch and it’s pretty bland. Very little wheat character. Ditto for the hops. I also remeber this being one of the few Beaus beers that I really enjoyed years ago. I had a can in my hand today, but didn’t pull the t...

I went through the Wild pack this weekend. All really nice brews. I may grab another couple packs.

Re: Ontario Craft Beer, Imports and Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO (Fall 2019)
As usual the import list is most exciting as the best Ontario brewers do little business with the LCBO.
i am loving the number/variety of dark beers and lack of inevitably stale hoppy beers.
I'm most excited for Oskar Blues Death by Coconut and Dupont Moinette Blonde.

This place just re-opened at 220 King St W, across from Roy Thompson Hall. Very nice space and back patio. I had the their Gold Rush Sour and a nitro pour of Peche Mortel.

Re: TFOB
Highlights from last night. Flying Monkeys probably has the most on offer here 10+ beers, several one-offs, including the 18% Invictus stout from a few years ago (which I enjoyed and would describe as a hot raisin bomb). Michigan Breweries feature — I spent a lot of time here with the likes of Jolly...

Re: Cider
I popped open my last bottle of Le Père Jules Brut from a couple years ago (2015 cork) and it has turned into a gusher and much more dry now than I remember. Still excellent. I wish we could get more of this or other calvados cider here. I may grab one of these in the meantime. Any new recommendatio...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Fat Tug in cans and it's drinking very nicely right now!
I'm not sure if anyone already mentioned this, but the remaining bottles of Founders CBS have been reduced to $6.65 across the province. Quite a steal. Same with the Cascade Apricot at $16.95.
