Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Re: GTA Coffee

Next time you go to Muddy York for one of their Pop-Up bottle days stop by Cultured Coffee Bean on O'Connor. www.culturedcoffeebean.com/default.asp They had a pretty good selection, by my novice coffee drinker standards. I've done a few coffee beers over the last few months and I'm starting to think...

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

Throw me a life line here. With all of the restrictions that have been reported, could a store (a mythical store that wanted to differentiate itself), stock tall boys, six packs, singles, of interesting beer from Ontario that wasn't available in the lcbo/TBS? Also, if this were to happen, and it wa...

Re: Habits to be nano brewing

Love this discussion! My own feelings closely follow Mr. Oliver's, I think. Our main saison (Habits Saison) plays well with both in my opinion, since it's bright and citrusy to make light foods pop and peppery and dry enough to cut through heavy foods. Had a glass at lunch the other day with a take...

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

Total guess (but everything's a total guess with this process, it seems), but maybe the 7.1% limit was chosen to partly help ensure that business for the LCBO's "Vintages-like" craft beer zones remains as strong as they're hoping and isn't undercut by enterprising grocers, like the one wh...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Nickelbrook has always been my favourite brewery but recently they have really been off. Headstock has been all over the place for the past six months after being delicious and consistent for the previous year. I think it's the switch to, and growing pains with, the newer, bigger brewery. I don't k...

immature brett to me means this: http://www.milkthefunk.com/wiki/Tetrahydropyridine

The cheerios flavour that you get in young brett beers. I apologize in advance for the biology stuff in that wiki, very good content and sources though.

Re: Random Reviews

Diacetyl is very common in Czech Pilsners (Bohemian Pils by BJCP), and definitely comes across as sweetness. Many people like the taste of diacetyl and it does work in certain beers sometimes. I usually can't stand it but that is a personal thing.
