Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
Pink Fuzz actually came to Toronto twice. First time was a single case to Yonge & Eglinton early in the year, that went in 2-3 days. Second time I picked it up from King & Spadina or Summerhill I believe, in mid-April. About a week or so ago I was at Summerhill and saw an employee go in bac...

Re: Birreria Volo
I had to take a pic of the food menu for Google Translate so I could figure out what I was ordering (gotta love technology) but it looks like it didn't save it. This is the only other one I have, of the oxbow bottles and a couple others: http://i.imgur.com/MZTj9CP.png Prices for food seemed on par f...

Re: Birreria Volo
Went there the other week and enjoyed a whole bunch of the 3 and 6 oz pours. Unfortunately they had an issue splitting our bill which was a bit annoying, but it had only opened recently so hopefully that issue has been fixed by now. I quite enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich, though I was annoyed th...

Yeah I remember trying that when it came out and it tasted like drinking a cup full of flowers and soap.ry_kinney wrote:Beau's St. Luke's Verse. Drainpour for me, similar spicing to Swiss Chalet dipping sauce and I just couldn't get over it. Gross.

Re: Bellwoods Brewery
Didn't see any social media announcements but Bellwoods has 2 new beers in the shop - Mango IPA and Sour Petite Saison. They are $5.50 and $5, respectively. Edit: Just tried them myself. The Sour Petite Saison is very light, not overly sour but easy drinking. The Mango IPA is very juicy (citra hops?...

Re: Bar Volo
I'm not so worried. The parks behind Volo already have a plethora of sketchy people doing drugs and stealing bikes and whatnot.TwoPint wrote:Bonus! It's right across from the park: "Residents worry about drug use, crime in Barbara Hall Park"

Re: Bellwoods Brewery
Had one on Friday, and it was quite delicious. Not sour, but good and tart, and the currant flavour was light and not overpowering. Overall a very solid brew, especially at 7.5%.

The current Monogamy Simcoe release is drinking very well. It's so incredibly fresh with a nose that is incredibly floral. I didn't actually know Simcoe hops could be this impressive. The one in the bottle shop at the moment is Mosaic, no? https://www.instagram.com/p/BJBRHzygWDE/?taken-by=bellwoods...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Mildly surprised 5 Paddles went with Home Sweet Home in the LCBO instead of In Your Face. Maybe they didn't want to get lost in a sea of other IPAs, but I don't think that would have happened considering the flashiness of the label, and the quality of the beer. Maybe they were worried about the LCB...

Re: What're you Bellwoodsing right now?
Glad to see these holding up well. I've been toying with the idea of opening a 2013 motley cru. And that saison sounds fantastic. Having just had one recently, I say go for it. I had a bottle of it ages ago and it's nice and sweet like a good belgian quad but missing most of that sour taste that wa...

Jelly King (regular version I assume) is coming back to the bottle shop next week. Donkey Venom is making a comeback very soon ("early in the month.") Barn Owl 4 set to make an appearance before the end of the month. Looks like 2649 bottles available of that one. http://i.imgur.com/Qc4QOpS...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Home Sweet Home was one of my least favourite offerings from 5 Paddles, the vanilla flavour was really overpowering and tasted like fake vanilla flavouring. Bleh.
