The only people I ever bash are the Volo people....they're in it for the money, not the love of beer. There's some stiff competition, no doubt, but this is the most patently absurd statement I have ever seen on BarTowel. My first sour is nearing the one year mark so I don't know if I have any pearls of wisdom to share but The Mad Fermentationist was one of my research starting points, as well as some of the boards on HomeBrew Talk.

I live across the street and shop at the retail store frequently as they usually have 1-2 rotators available and fresh stock of stalwarts like Boneshaker and Fracture. The pub is fine and I sometimes go there to catch a game and try a couple new beers, but the rotators on tap are typically the same...

Stayed at the Stagecoach in Waterbury, great experience there and wicked close to the main spots. Not much else to add there that hasn't been said. Also recommend hitting Wolavers/Otter Creek in Middlebury if you get the chance (happened to be going through), nice little tap room, super cheap beer, ...

Another fun trip to Philly (check my quick reviews from last time), some new places some old favourites - decent craft beer is pretty much any where you go. Stayed in the Fairmount/Art Museum district so I checked out some new places in that area as well: Belgian Cafe (A-) - Monk's little sister, a ...

The subway's fine & comparable to Chicago I think but, even better than Chicago, many of the best drinking locations are an easy walk from one another. I found Chicago to be much more spread out and you had to rely on transit to hit multiple destinations, while Philly is much more concentrated ...
