Grand River names all their beers after quasey local historic stuff, or at least local things. The original two beers (Plowman's Ale, Galt Knife Old Style Lager) were sort of throw-backs to classic styles of beer that were popular in the area decades and decades ago. The logo for Town Hall Lager is ...

I know that Conrad is a girls dorm.... I lived at WCRI on Phillip St. for a few years. I was trying to be funny, which really is a stretch for me. Haha, no I wasn't offended or anything, I was just clearing up confusion over what Conrad was because someone asked. I'm pretty sure I can manage to set...

That'd be pretty cool, and amazingly appreciated, but um, I guess since we have the same variety of beers available to us, trading would be sort of stupid :P , but provided I have money, I tend to spend what I have to to get good beer. Sinha's not bottle conditioned? Uh oh.......better go home and c...

But I want them BOTH! :(

Is it even possible for an IS to be at 6.7%? Odd. Although I did hear, or, read, somewhere that John By is supposed to be a slightly milder version of the American IS's.

Conrad hall is an all-girls residence at Laurier. I'm in the King St. residence. I've tried that beer store before for TP but they were out :(. So then I asked about Raftman, as they're supposed to carry it too, and of course, NOTHING! But thanks for the heads up. Sinha stout is something I've been ...

Or Hair of the Dog's various BW's. I just wish that more US craft brews could be exported to Canada, specifically Ontario, more specifically south-western Ontario! Why is it the LCBO carries virtually nothing good from the US, other than Anchor Liberty Ale?

Thanks for all the input everyone. I wish I had the financial resources at the moment to explore all these options, but I think for now I'll have to wait for Colonel John By to show up, and hope that when I get the chance to visit the Wellington brewery soon, they'll have their IS available there. Y...

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely looking forward to this John By IS, not only because it's an IS, but because I'm really starting to love anything produced by the Scotch Irish brew master Perry! I'll have to start watching my local LCBO's like a hawk though (which I guess for me wouldn't be an is...

Akin for an Impy

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, but I've been a member of Rate Beer for a while now. A new beer acquaintance directed me here. I'm glad to see such a site exists for me to talk beer with fellow Ontarian's. I'm actually only 19, but I sort of dove right into craft/real beer right away (okay, to b...

I bought this and Mill St.'s Barley Wine at the same time. I was depressingly underwhelmed by Mill St.'s effort, which made me question barley wines as it was my first ever. The next day I had my bottle of St. Amboise, and it was astronomically better. Go figure. Excellent beer, which I picked up an...

I live in Waterloo, and just today I swear I got one of the luckiest breaks in quite some time. Our big store in the town square FINALLY got all their winter seasonals stocked on the shelves, so I picked up a couple Thomas Hardy's this morning. At the cash, they wouldn't scan, I guess they're having...
