Liverpool, NY

If you're staying in or near Liverpool, you don't have to go far for good beer and food. On 1st St, downtown Liverpool, there is the Limp Lizard - awesome craft beer selection and southern Barbecue menu. Across the street is The Retreat; very popular, but without the great beer selection. Behind the...

Headstock IPA

The current batch of Headstock IPA, canned on October 2, 2013 may be the best this this beer has ever tasted ( and smelled )
I got mine at the brewery, but some Burlington LCBOs have it.

This beer has come a long way; In my opinion, it's one of the best IPAs we have in Ontario right now.

They are now open on the Oakville-Mississauga border, in the theatre complex at the QEW and Winston Churchill Blvd ( at the LA Fitness end ) It's a very nice looking place, with a patio. I made it to the Griffin Pub in Bracebridge on Saturday. Enjoyed a couple of Sawdust City's Pale Wheat. Food was good, too. That evening, they were having a parking lot party ( as they do every Saturday of a long weekend ) with a great variety of craft beers from all over Ontario. They served from s...

Muskoka Mad Tom: I had this on draft yesterday at the Muskoka Highlands Golf Club, in Bracebridge. It was fantastic. The $5.25 price tag for the pint added to the enjoyment. Picked up some cans of Mad Tom in Bracebridge, with an 'enjoy before' date of 03 Nov 13 . It's not in the same league. Very di...

Beware the price of the cask beer; $8.50+ Yesterday, it was Johnny Simcoe, and it was a far cry from the cans from the brewery and the draft at Bryden's. On a positive note, my pint of RPA was $6.50+ By the way, in the same plaza is a Longo's and their wine / craft beer bar, 'Corks'. Nice selection ...
