Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Skeleton Key is still around because it is not that good. Spiced brews don't do anywhere near as well as a BBA or Cognac barrel aged good imperial stout. This spiced brew was pretty bad. I won't try another but that is my personal taste though. BOYD is more up most people's alley so it sells quicke...

having 3 "sours" (Farmageddon, the dry-hopped sour and Motley) plus 2 barrel-aged stouts on tap? 5 years ago, we'd be flagellating ourselves... Exactly, some effing perspective. Thank you. Had al three of those yesterday, along with some others. Was great...hope the dry-hopped sour become...

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

There is some new return/exchange policy at the lcbo now. You need to sign your life away and they send your returned product away to a lab for analysis. Apparently someone was returning vodka bottles filled with water. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/more-lcbo-bottles-seized-by-police-after-...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Grabbed some Aphrodite today. Yeah, not thrilled about the date. But I've always loved it. Keeping my receipt should I find it too unpleasant. But I REALLLLLLLY love it when an LCBO employee makes comments about the price of beer compared to what it was like in their day. Oh yeah, such an impressed...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I like Skeleton Key.....is this the 3rd time they've released it? I think they had some back in november when I was out of the country....but can't recall. Bounty Hunter was another tasty one. Not the first time they've dropped prices either... this is the second time AFAIK. it's been on tap there ...

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

Château des Roques Vacqueyras 2012 Southern Rhone Grenache Blend Here is an extremely solid Grenache-focused southern Rhone red that is well worth the bucks. Beautiful acid-mineral palate over berries and herbs, and looks and smells great, plus aging potential - bonus! only one store in Toronto has...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Be careful when buying the Stone box, at least at Dundas and Dovercourt. It scans in as 3 whole boxes, so they need to manually enter in. I was shocked at first as I wasn't paying attention and was charged $130 for the box and some tallcans. It's quite obvious something was wrong, but if you aren't...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Seemed like anyone who arrived by 9:30 opening time or just after got a bottle. Not at all the mayhem that surrounded Westy. Really well organized by Goose Island (not LCBO) staff, with numbered tickets, coffee and donuts, and free toques. Well done. There was enough for second bottles if you wante...
