The best thing they released imo, was Gigantic La Formidable and that isn't even their recipe.

A large chunk of every other brewers retail price also goes to the Government. They don't pass that on the consumer, though.

Re: Nickel Brook Brewing

The DDH Naughty is very good. The DDH Headstock is ridiculous. Even if not for the dry hopping, this batch of Headstock has the malt dialed way, way back and would have been an excellent batch on its own. Easily the best it's tasted since early summer/late spring and the dry hopping is icing on the...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Geez, what made you really dislike people who don't have the same taste as you? Don't twist what I said. Don't be that person. I don't think he is twisting your words at all. I am one of those people who loves Bellwoods beer and who has waited in line to pay $12 per 500 ml bottle. I do so because, ...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I think we'd all be drinking a lot more Bellwoods if the prices were lower. But as has been said before, they have a tough time keeping up with demand and lowering prices would only exacerbate that problem. The fanboys that are willing to stand in line in the rain and then shell out 12 bones for a ...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I just cannot see how they justify their prices though, as they don't even go through a middle man. Can you imagine the cost of their beers if they were in the LCBO?! I look at a brewery like Hill Farmstead and they don't even charge as much as BW...and they have been consistently rated among the be...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Not to suggest $12 for a bottle of beer isn't expensive (it is) ... but ... let me put a little perspective on things. 500ml of beer at 10% abv = ~50ml pure alcohol 750ml of whisky at 40% abv = 300ml pure alcohol so 6 bottles of beer (or $72) = 1 bottle whisky I challenge any whisky nerd (esp Scotc...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I don't understand why Lambda sits around either... Because St. Bernardus Abt 12 is $9.10 for a 750ml bottle. Why would you not go for that option? I kind of feel bad for not supporting Bellwoods as much as I would like to, but their beers are inconsistent and largely underwhelming considering thei...

When Headstock is on point, it is hands down the best IPA available here. And Immodest is the best IIPA.

I also noticed that they no longer label their cans with dates. I was in Laird LCBO last week and searched all over a few cans before giving up and buying a different beer.
They still print the dates on them...in black ink on a dark grey can. It's there, but next to impossible to read!

Keep 6 can only import so much (high demand in QC), and it often goes straight to bars. You can find a huge selection of DDC and TDD at a lot of great bars around the city.
Yes and is usually pretty pricey.
