Re: Godspeed Brewery
A 'smith' is generally associated with a trade or craftsmen i.e. Blacksmith, Goldsmith, Locksmith, Gunsmith, Bladesmith, etc. I have also assumed that AleSmith was a play on these words. i.e. someone who crafts beer. Hence the Blacksmith anvil in the logo. I just assumed that Belgian wasn't being s...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I really hope great lakes does more cans of their various ipas for the lcbo. I really prefer this format over the $6 bombers Same here. Kind of tired of the big bottles....just give me smaller formats, whether bottles or cans, and I'll actually buy more. Yah, it's interesting how the format can aff...

Bellwood's and Trillium were both named Top 100 brewers in the world. http://www.ratebeer.com/RateBeerBest/BestBrewers-World2016.asp yet someone won't drive down from Markham because their beer's not worth it....

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?
Don't know if this was posted elsewhere, I was in my local large food store that had been granted the ability to sell beer in Hamilton. They have a sort of a food court area where you can get any type of Asian, Italian food , coffee and a pastry etc and you can eat in a number of booths they have t...

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?
The nomenclature is important here. Ontario doesn't recognize "craft". Ontario recognizes "small brewers" in their legal framework. Interesting. For reasons I can't explain, I've never been keen on the term "craft beer". Back in the 80s and 90s, we spoke of "micro...
