Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

When I used to work the Cubana flights in my hometown of Gander Newfoundland, the flight crews would always give us "Polar" beer from Venezuela. I imagine it must be available in Cuba.
Cubana flight crews were great people :)

They weren't free, only a couple of bucks each, but I bought several very nice "Church Key Brewing" etched beer glasses at the brewery when I was there in September. I'll bet I've got the only ones in Newfoundland! :) :)

As usual Stephen, I'm not doing enough! Ha! I'm off to Newfoundland for a few months to start a new brewpub (back for Christmas), doing a lot of development and operations work in the cooler business (don't choke), trying to start my own thing. Pax. Liam Brewpub? In Newfoundland? Woooo Hoooo! I am ...

All the beers you mentioned have been stocked by the LCBO in recent years, several multiple times, albeit not as regular offerings. I've had the Rogue Chocolate Stout in Ontario but haven't seen the others there. I visit ontario five or six times a year, mostly the Ottawa area,( I lived in Toronto ...

I'll vote for Rogue. The Chocolate Stout is the best. I'd love to see Young's Double Chocolate Stout, Marston's Oyster Stout. Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout.
Hmmm, do you see a pattern here? ;)

I have accepted the fact they are "McDonalds of beer supply" That's a good analogy, but I'd say The Beer Store was the McDonalds (with their supersize deals) ... Actually, McDonalds has way too much atmosphere & is too consumer-oriented with product listings you can READ. The Beer Sto...

I enjoyed the "Nell Gwynne" pub while in London. Small comfortable place just a short walk from Trafalgar Square. Its across the street from the "Maple Leaf" if you want a Molson Canadian ;) http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/thepubs/pub1351.html My regular pub in London for 4 n...

Thanks for all the help!
I think I'll pm our friend Esprit and also email F&M Brewery.
Then I'll visit Dieu du Ciel, try their beers and get another glass. ;)

Cheers!

"Thistle" beer glass

Does anyone know where I can buy a "Thistle" style beer glass? I asked the (very attractive) young lady at beer accessories store next to Pub Italia in Ottawa but they didn't have one. I've looked on Ebay but with no luck. I'd like to have one to add to my small collection of beer glasses....

You have way more willpower than me if you can hang onto a bottle of Chocolate Stout for three years. I love the stuff!

Where is that one available? LCBOs in Toronto area only, or is also outside the GTA? I'd like to give a try. I went all over to Ottawa area looking for the Belhaven Blueberry with no luck.

Beer ice cream?

Has anyone tried the Great Lakes "Ice Cream Brew"?
It doesn't sound like a great combination to me. But I'd still like to try it. ;)

And walk around the corner to the "Rogue's Roost" and have one of their brown ales. Dark like a porter, very nice.
