Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Rochefort 8 in Gatineau SAQ

Just a heads up that a couple of stores in Gatineau got a dump of Rochefort 8 lately.

World population growth has slowed quite a bit the last 10 years. Yes, population is increasing, but at a rate slower than has been seen 50 years or more.

Even markets in this country with arguably better setups (Quebec, Alberta, B.C.) all have certain trade offs for greater beer access (most specifically price). I am not even exactly sure how much better the Quebec system is compared to the Ontario system. I mean sure Quebec's interal system, with t...

2XIPA / John, Trolls don't understand common sense and logic. But at least you can say you tried. :) Had a much bigger response, and lost it in submission... I don't have a dog in this fight, but the point shouldn't be what it would cost an individual to buy from either source. I think it is legiti...

Thanks! That picture makes me laugh though, hard to figure if it's better or worse than the website!

How will the tasting work once we are in? $12 for the weekend, but that's just for entry. Is it a ticket system for samples?

I'm not clear on what the layout is going to be. Is this in a field under tents or is it in an actual building?

Just got back from a few nights in Stowe. What a great experience! Beer all around was first rate. Made two huge purchases at the Beverage Wharehouse in Winooski. Great store! Tried the Alchemist one night, and place was insane, couldn't wait with kids in tow. Went next door to The Reservoir, and th...

Pretty sure I saw signs made up at the Rideau/King Edward store in Ottawa a few weeks ago saying that even the open packs couldn't be broken up. I seem to recall seeing a sign hanging directly under some Netherworld sixes, for example.

Manx isn't too bad for their food list, and their vibe is great, but the menu is a bit on the tight side.

All of the above are great. I was in awe of the bottle list at L'Autre Oeuil the last time I was there. Amazing! Weird spot, but what a great list!

Wine Spectator? Especially the Discussion Forum which has a very active discussion area just for LCBO. I think the best reading is not the big R Parkers but the independent sites. Guys like Michael Pinkus specifically review all current LCBO Vintages releases, archiving them so you can research the...

ratebeer/beer adv for wine?

Hey folks, anybody have a recommendation for a similar site as ratebeer, but for wine? Bonus points if the site has an iPhone app.

Thanks!
