Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Might be no stock near where you are, but if you're doing a wider search, then probably wrong. Definitely available in cans at LCBO's around the Collingwood area.

Re: Amsterdam Brewery

Might well have got my numbers wrong, but definitely remember talk of distillers licences a few years ago.

Re: Amsterdam Brewery

When I left around 4ish, they had about 20 cases left at the QQ location. They're expecting to run out tomorrow. According to one of the guys in the retail store, the reason why there are literally triple the amount of bottles this year was that they felt bad that they were forced to drop the ABV f...

Re: Spain?

A random bump to this old thread in case anyone is heading to Spain anytime soon. In Barcelona, Biercab has an amazing selection (as well as a bottle shop full of Cantillion). BrewDog has a branch there now, which is as you'd expected. Found one nice little brewpub right on the harbour, called Black...

Re: Blood Brothers Brewing

Me too. Being a grumpy old man, I also dislike when a brewery starts with something bizarre like a chocolate gose. Show me you can brew a good standard gose/saison first before throwing in a bunch of adjuncts.

What did you think of this? I found my first bottle a little underwhelming
I had it on draft at Bar Hop on Friday and thought it was amazing. Hit the notes of stout, wine and fruit, whilst still being pretty low ABV and therefore sessionable.

Re: Best non-Toronto, non-LCBO breweries?

Yep, no Clifford Porter at Innocente, but they have one of their own - Charcoal Porter - which is very good. For me, I'd go Innocente first of those three, but I haven't had any of the house-brewed Elora yet.

Re: Best non-Toronto, non-LCBO breweries?

It's all personal taste, but I'm not on the Royal City bandwagon either. They're doing very well here in Guelph and the storefront is always busy, but I'm yet to find anything that I'd class as better than average (and many times, a lot worse than average).

Re: Zwanze Day 2015

I personally haven't thought much of Wellington's sour efforts - they've been very bready, which isn't to my taste. Not sure if it counts as a sour program, but the Wild Child Berliner Weisse out of Black Swan in Stratford is excellent.

Really hoping that a fair few of those will still be there by the time I get there on Friday!
