Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I rarely, if ever, look at beer reviews beyond comments that people make on this website, and I certainly don't use Untapped. Having said that, I don't read too much in to this. The differences in these overall averages are not huge, and I think there are a lot of things that could affect and skew ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
IMO Komes, a hefty, sumptuous 9% Baltic Porter, is really great value at $3.65 for 500ml currently. Interesting you bring this up. Being an anal accountant I keep track of my "inventory" in a spreadsheet. One of the data points is a calculation of cost/ml of alcohol (i.e. a $5 10% beer is...

...Because it's the result of 30ish years of underinvestment in hydro infrastructure. Part of the reason costs are so high is they're trying to cover the costs of upgrades. ... in other words, we haven't paid enough for hydro in the past or present to cover all the costs of production. Its always b...

Re: Doug Ford
Unless there's a proposal to cut the cost of hydro generation, which the conservatives do not have, what's the point? Dougie is going to fire the CEO and save a million bucks a year*. Then he's going to hire another CEO and pay her/him <$100K to stay off the sunshine list**. I'm not up on the costs...

Re: Drug Ford
As much as I hate the current system and would love to see beer/wine/spirits sold by private stores, I'd rather continue with the AGCO/LCBO status quo than have Drug Ford as premier.

Re: Beer in Grocery Stores
Anyone notice price differences between the grocery stores and LCBO/TBS? The other day I bought some Side Launch Pale Ale and DAB (Dortmunder) - both 500ml - at Sobey's. I think I glanced at the prices below the cans before picking them up but didn't notice any price difference from the LCBO where ...

Re: LCBO Delivery Time
i think it depends on the store (i.e. how diligent they are in receiving the package on the system after they actually receive it) Its taken me anywhere from 3 to 5 business days after receiving the shipped notification email. current order placed May 13, ship notification May 15... received email ...

Re: LCBO Delivery Time
It's not always the store. I went I three days after I got a shipping notification once and my local spent 20 minutes searching in the back for it despite it not showing in their system. It arrived a few days later. you get 3 email notifications 1. order received 2. order shipped 3. order received ...

Re: Rouge River
Is this place worth stopping at on a trip heading north (going right by there on the 407), or should I just wait to stop at Redline like I normally do? If you enjoy hoppy pale ales, IPAs, and fruity sours (not a fan myself but others rave about them), they are worth a stop. Just today they released...

Garrison Juicy DIPA- wow.......I don't think I've been lied to this badly by a beer before. Claimi g to be an east coast IPA, dank, tropical,Juicy and hazy. Absolutely not! Hazy.....damn it's pretty similar looking to an adjunct lager. Dank, nope. Tropical, ok yeah I taste a tiny bit of mango. Juicy...

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation
Going up in price, Blanton's "The Original single barrel bourbon" ($70) is a must try Less than 1/4 left in my bottle yet lcbo only shows a single bottle in the system. Anyone know if this is returning? It’s a great pour. I think you're talking about the one with the green label (40%). Th...

Re: Muddy York Brewing
...So you have lots and lots of these barrels that had bourbon in them for less than a year, that the bourbon makers can't reuse... You are correct that barrels can only be used once for Bourbon (and rye). However, the vast majority of American whisky is aged much more than one year. In order to be...
