Re: Celebrity Pub Encounters?
Surprisingly I have had many. I keep much of the stories to myself as I can barely remember who some of these people are or I just try to respect privacy. Really, friends always give me a hard time for not knowing anything about celebrities of any stripe. Unless you did something meaningful, more th...

Re: Elora Brewing Company (n. of Guelph)
As a kellerbier geek, I am interested, but I don't think I have seen their offerings at the Elsi Lickbow Any suggestions where to find this in the GTA (core)?

Re: Kensington Brewing Company
I fear it's the real estate monster bearing down. They have a nice space, but it only seats so many. Ultimately, beer making is an industrial process, so it would be more cost effective to do in an industrial zone v.s. a 'cultural zone' like Kensington. I hope they work it out, I think they make gre...

Re: Kensington Brewing Company
Anyone know if Kensington Brewing is still going? Stopped by their downtown location yesterday and all locked up, even though hours posted on door said it should be open. No Instagram posts on their account since November ‘22. I dropped in there sometime late in the fall. I'm thinking it was close ...

Re: beer (alcohol) and health
I, again, mostly agree with tapsucker. But just to clarify, when I said I don't see the point of NA beer, mocktails or decaf coffee, I was speaking only for myself personally. No judgment here if others want to "indulge". Heck, I even have an NA beer or two and some decaf on hand for visi...

Re: beer (alcohol) and health
While I don't judge the consumer, I am alarmed by what is promoted. People can and should do what they want, it's just sad that one health concern is traded for pushing another problematic ingredient. This especially applies to the mocktail biz. The NA beer thing rattles in my mind in the same space...

Ale, Lager Etc.
This is a little piece that showed up in my inbox today. Familiar topic to many here, so this rather concise overview is nice. https://beerandbrewing.com/lagers-in-all-but-name/?__s=wal3mgkl6ym87mdcrlwx&utm_source=drip&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=CBB+02.07.23+EDIT&utm_content=Lager...

Not really about beer, but culturally adjacent
Interesting look at "craft" BBQ. There might be some points here applicable to "craft" beer culture. Or this is just another first world problem to discuss.

Re: Nova Scotia
Is anybody else reading this and feeling like we're either scared to find out what bars still exist or we are grieving? I mean, we know there was COVID attrition and commercial rents (or any real estate) has destroyed so many great places in our own communities but also elsewhere. I guess shit happe...

Re: beer (alcohol) and health
I knew this would come up here at some point.    OK. Not really a bad discussion to have. I have done many a dry February. Picking the shortest month of the year should speak to my commitment on these matters. There are two things about this discussion that always make me br...
