Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Even if the OCB approached them to have "Craft Beer Thursdays" or something....a few times a year, would be cool. Rogers Center is like most of Ontario. It is a corporate, sanitary outhouse. It is a good reason why the Bills games had no chance here. Ridiculously overpriced corporate rape...

You made me look. I have no idea why the Russian Gun is listed with "spices" as an ingredient. It has none in it at all and has not changed at all from the previous years. Another label ingredient listing mystery that probably has some reason behind it but it is beyond me. Hopefully we can...

@ The Harbord House with my son while we did a spiderman activity book. 1/2 pint of Beau's Mission Accomplished, AIPA. One of the more "on-style" beers that they've made, I think, but there's still something weird about it - maybe it's their yeast that I always taste. I had a pint this ev...

Fresh Founders Centennial found at the Jane/Dundas LCBO today. Bottles have a best before date of 12/06/14 on them. Does Founders use a European dating system, or are they saying Centennial lasts ~10 months? 10 month shelf life is not uncommon for cans. The big breweries in Canada would often produ...

It freaked me out as well. All you could feel afterwards was a notion that they were completely incompetent and had no clue.

I wonder if the Cambridge focus is a controlled reaction to the documentary that has been filming here about beer distribution in Ontario? I enjoyed offering my thoughts in that one

what about Hoptical Illusion? I imagine Flying Monkeys and Blue Point had some understanding allowing them both to use the name in good faith and distinct markets, but with the AB purchase, I wonder if any name changes will be in order. What?!?...Not likely. Who thinks like that? Don't ever assume ...

Orwellian. Not to mention Kafkaesque, I'm picturing 'The Trial.' But didn't F&M know in advance? I mean the 4% labeling regs, not the byzantine ways of the Board. No, we didn't know. Been selling that beer as Light for years. They don't have a problem with that until it's on their shelves. But ...

The formula for the freezing point of beer is:

Tf = – (0.04*Original Extract (Plato) + 0.42*Alcohol Strength + 0.2) oC

thus a 5% beer with OG at 12 Plato will freeze at - 2.78 C

Alcohol. All those beers on the patio/balcony bring the beer to -4C. On the edge. Haze forming, thinking about chunks. Pull one out and crack the top...boom! Body turns to slush.

Temp drops with the pressure drop and sludge, its ice.

Had my first ever pint of Rolling Rock a few months ago at new local pub with great scratch made food, but pitiful taplist. It was incredibly bland and tasteless, moreso than typical adjunct fare from Molson that i am more familiar with. Oh yeah, this place had their "own" beer on tap, wh...
