Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

I don't really have any other IPAs to add to this list. These are all excellent and good examples of what we have to offer. However, while I do love the IPAs that have been listed and seek them out often for my own drinking when I'm not brewing my own, this was also my first thought: But honestly, i...

I was there just a couple of weeks ago! The Round Table had good beer. Original Joe's was good. A place I didn't get to but heard was good was the Yellow Dog. I did take the time to visit Half Pints Brewery for a tour. Dave is the brewmaster there and he took a good chunk of time with me personally ...

On the dry hopping strain of things in this thread... Is there a maximum threshold beyond which there's no point in adding more hops for dry hopping? I recognize there is a tremendous amount of "fun" involved in saying that I dry hopped with 5oz for seven days (or whatever) but is there a ...

You don't want to get too adventurous too soon. It is Ontario after all.

I would love to see a (re)start up brewery come out of the gates with something insane as their first brew. Market be damned!

A friend of mine in Cleveland Heights just notified me of this place in the neighbourhood: http://www.thewinespotonline.com/ https://www.facebook.com/TheHeightsWineSpot It's not obvious to me whether it's a pub/wine bar or whether it's a retail outlet. A few comments on the fb page indicate the craf...

I've spent a bunch of time in Cleveland Heights over the years and can't really add anything to your list except to emphasize a couple of places. Melt and Happy Dog are good fun! I think Melt is good any time of the day. I was in for lunch and had to work in the afternoon so only had one pint but I ...

I think we did a mulled winter ale at Grand River early on at one of the tastings. Seems to me it was about this time two years ago?

Use both and average them out? Isn't that what we did today with our pre-boil readings? The other solution I use is: Did you end up with beer? Mmmmmm... beer. 13.8% vs 15.4%? Try two pints and then see if you care what the actual reading is. LOL Sorry, just being my normally useless and quasi-witty ...

New brewing blog

Wasn't sure whether to post this in Random Talk or here in Homebrewing but since this is primarily about Homebrewing I'll post here... I figured that since I brew fairly often and end up talking about brewing fairly often I would try writing about it fairly often as well. I started a brewing blog to...
