Re: Pictures and a blog from our Belgium trip
Not sure if anyone's interested, but my wife and I finished our blog from last year's Belgium trip. Better late than never. We wrote about our three brewery visits: Cantillon http://iflookscouldfill.wordpress.com/2011/07/09/cantillon/ Westvleteren http://iflookscouldfill.wordpress.com/2011/07/15/we...

Anyone know where the Bad Ass Brewers Collective (Indie Ale House, Sawdust City, Kevin Sommerville) Cock Puncher IPA 7% was brewed? Niagara College? that was one of my favourites. It was already eliminated by the time I got there, and I couldn't believe it. Was one of the best beers I had all night.

you're right, all the upstarts in Ontario have it wrong - bellwoods, junction, indie ale house, sawdust city, Kensington - they didn't do any research and those dingbats are now operating TWO risky businesses, instead of one impossible one! you should call them to impart your financial advice. I RE...

Starting as a brew pub seems to make much more financial sense, since you can start making good money right away. I am not sure how starting 2 risky business ventures (a restaurant and a brewery) would make more financial sense. you're right, all the upstarts in Ontario have it wrong - bellwoods, j...

I'll need that 1 liquor store that I can go to that will be guaranteed to have the good stuff to fill my suitcase on the way home. Also, shouldn't be...

We've long complained about lack of beer styles in Ontario, and Belgian styles in particular are non-existent. So this is another good sign yes? Props to beers like Muskoka Mad Tom IPA, Amsterdam Tempest RIS and Bellwoods Saison, beers which look the part to inspire what's missing in our brew scene...
