Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

I think it was a tad optimistic for Mill Street to offer that BW for 10.95, fancy tube or not.

I did grab 4 'naked' bottles from the brewery for 5 bucks each. THAT is an offering I will commit to.

I assume there were no historical "Imperial Pilseners" yet the phrase is derived from the 'IPA' or 'Imperial Stout's implication that it is a bigger-tasting beer?

Sierra Nevada will not sell to the LCBO as the brewery demands refrigerated transportation, refrigerated warehouses and refrigerated retail displays...the LCBO will not guarantee #1 or #3 and cannot do #2. Yet they will do private orders to customers via the LCBO, even though #1 cannot be guarantee...

If I want really great, fresh roasts, I either have to roast it myself, or buy very expensive mail-order from the states (since the coffee stales so quickly). Well you've obviously got high stakes in very, very good coffee, so I can't flog the expired pony for the mere sake of being the Coffee Guy ...

But the coffee place sounds worth a try.

I like B on Queen St. East. Cute Baristina, does Cappucino Art.

No, Starbucks isn't an ideal 'norm' or a great example, but the point is: 1) quality awareness of a product slowly creating a caché about it and 2) the growing market which gladly follows it. We DO seem to move along in this regard, even if now we're only at the middle of the curve... whether it's n...

Sierra Nevada will not sell to the LCBO as the brewery demands refrigerated transportation, refrigerated warehouses and refrigerated retail displays...the LCBO will not guarantee #1 or #3 and cannot do #2. Mabe the Beer Store could handle it better, or is it equally lame in handling beer? Peter, th...

Ah. Well I'm still gettin' at least one case to stash, thank you very much Mr. Pete. Hmm.. Paulaner Salvator (330ml for 1.90 + .10 deposit?) may be the only real beer available in the same family, and it's priced the same relative to volume. I like 'em both, but I find the Weltenburger has a bit mor...

Oh, sure... I'm positive the wonderfully responsive LCBO people would jump at the chance to explain their decision-making process to us, and to gather empirical public input, especially for the higher craft-level niche market they're so avidly interested in serving. Obviously you're being sarcastic...

Um... Creemore has the quite decent UrBock... Never tried Trafalgar Bock, or King's new PilsBock... I will if I ever find them.

The comparison is difficult and Doppels are pretty much a German art form, it seems.

That's interesting Perry. So bar owners are deliberately selecting merchandise not based on its merit for thousands of customers, but based on getting frivolous perks for themselves? Yet doesn't a happier customer translate into repeat business? You're making the assumption that the majority of peo...

Weltenburger Asam Bock!

This is a DoppelBock that should be forthcoming in the spring release, a 500 ml import from Bavaria, Germany, and this beer is loaded with balanced, complex malty flavor. I was shocked to note the price listed on the (to date zero) website inventory... are you sitting down - $2.55 per 500ml bottle! ...
