Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

IMO Komes, a hefty, sumptuous 9% Baltic Porter, is really great value at $3.65 for 500ml currently.

Re: LCBO Xmas Release 2017

Picked up a case of 2017 Fullers Vintage Ale in Ottawa today. Lots of repeat Christmas packs out already ie Historic Scottish Ales (no Kelpie?) St Bernie pack, Belhaven pack, and singles such as Greene King Festive Pudding, Shep Neame Christmas and Wychwood Ba Humbug. A case? Wow, you must be devot...

Re: LCBO Xmas Release 2017

Just had Kaiser and Drangon's Milk from the Yonge and Highway 7 location. They also had the Chimay gift pack (red, white, blue and glass) and Fuller's Vintage. Kaiser tastes as good as ever, though its a sweet desert beer to be sure and I'm so glad we have glassware back at the LCBO. From what I saw...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Not a " New Arrival" obviously but wasn't sure where else to post it. Great sale just started today at TBS on Nickel Brook brands full case price. Naughty Neighbour for example $15 off a case...48.95. Good find. $2.25/can for Headstock? I'm listening. For me, Nickelbrook and Great Lakes a...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

The previous Alvinne imports we had a few years back with a different agent were pretty good, but every bottle was a gusher. Which is fine, if you expect it. Lately most of the Aventinus I've been having have been volcanoes. This seems to be a cyclical problem for Schneider as I remember it from ye...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

I don't mind trying ultra pricey beers here and there, but they almost never turn out to be worth the sticker price. For instance I did love the FM Invictus and the more recent Duvel Saison, but in each case you can find a close comparison at 1/4 of the price or less, so imo these prices don't just ...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Ordered two Invictus bottles from online. My preference would be to try one, but had to do two to satisfy the $50 minimum order. LCBO's minimum order threshold is definitely reasonable, but I wish they would allow customers to purchase single bottles like with Invictus so we could mix and match, ins...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

I see the Flying Monkeys Invictus is online order for $38/bottle. Seems a bit steep. Is it worth it? The unique thing is that you can order them in singles rather than by the box, as long as the minimum order is at least $50. So, 2 bottles will run me $76. Worth it?

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

thanks for the input guys, i forgot another factor is the ABV of the beer. for example 2 beers with the same price/mL and rating, but one is 10% ABV and the other is 7%, the 10% should be more value should it not? IMO, unless you are buying beer just to get drunk, ABV should have no impact on the c...

Re: Crossroads (Weston & 401) clearance section

I've been going to the Weston/401 clearance for over 5 years, much less so recently since I moved to the other end of the city. This clearance section is unique (just like this location's hours, which no other LCBO in Ontario has) in that private orders, which are not paid for end up here, hence the...

Re: What HOMEBREW are you drinking right now?

Best Case (from Noble Grape) Belgian Farmhouse Saison extract kit. Approx. 6% alc./vol and 22 IBU's. This was my very first homemade brew and I really like it. I made it in my Fastferment. Nice fruity (peach, apricots, lemon) a bit of spice taste and just the right amount of carbonation. Even thoug...
