New information I heard over the weekend is that the GLB takeover and Jester King are tests for not doing a ticketed event.
Makes me a bit nervous. Wasn't it because of the huge line to get into a Beau's takeover that they started doing tickets?

How was the yeast? In the past I've used Wyeast's French Saison. I just got a sample of Escarpment's Old World Saison. I'm assuming that's what they gave you. How did it stack up in flavour? Earlier this year I made a Dupont clone with Escarpment's Old World Saison. Aside from not enough carbonatio...

Re: HB kits?
Probably a fluke, but the Brooklyn kit that I tried earlier this year failed horribly. I think in the end it was a problem with the yeast.
I have since taken that equipment and just used it to brew my own recipes successfully.

Also picked up more Rochefort 10 and a bottle of dupont. Drinkvine says they have 200+. I'm doing a tasting at Manul...

5 bucks for the shuttle this year? Rabble rabble rabble! They better have improved shuttle service this year if they are charging. The shuttle on the Saturday at the end of the night last year was a shit show. A massive line-up of people waiting to get on a shuttle. I'm sure many that live outside ...

I really enjoyed last year's Hoperation Triple Cross from Phillips. Great blend of tropical hops and belgian yeast.

Re: No more Dupont
Yeah, I can't remember if this is what happened last year (being marked discontinued but coming back). I kind of remember Roland + Russell saying it was going to be a regular listing after last summer. I buy a bottle a week to try to maintain its sales (also because I drink it :D ) What upsets me mo...

I hope the "flash flock" events also feature these beers. They might be a little less crazy.

Princess stands as the worst beer I've ever had, at least on the first occasion of having tried it. It was at Bar Hop last summer. I tried to order it and the bartender suggested I have a small taste first. There is something off about it she quipped. She said it tasted like goat cheese left in you...
