Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). I had no idea you couldn't bring beer across provincial borders. I just made my friend a criminal then, he brought me back some beers from Alberta. Is this really true? Don't people in Ottawa and New Brunswick always drive over to Quebec for cheaper beer? I'm gonna do this all the time now that I kn...

You can definitely take them back for the deposit - just point out the little white sticker if the beer store guys give you crap. There's actually no sticker on these guys..., doesn't matter, I always sneak in a bottle or two of my non-Ontario bottles. I'm taking the system down 10 cents at a time!!!

I notice on the bill they charged bottle deposit. So I'm safe to take these empties to the beer store and they won't tell me they don't take American bottles?

I'm enjoying the Gemini and Uber Sun I ordered. Thanks!

corporations control the government The beer corporations do? Rather odd they only do so in Ontario... That was not my point. My point was that to get free enterprise, we should not have to return to a social conservative backwater ahhh... agreed. I don't really think the PC's really are much into ...

The stone age was not free enterprise. Free enterprise brings us out of the stone age.

I got out to try a few pints. I was really happy with Grand River's Plowman's Ale, I liked it even more than the Curmudgeon. Their imperial stout was nice too - I really do have to drive out to their place and buy some beers.
Neustadt Big Dog Porter was a highlight for me as well.

I had a pint of Fullers ESB last night at the Duke of Kent. My first sip was nice,I thought I tasted a bit of hop in it, but after I swear it was a pint of London Pride. Did they just give me a squirt of ESB and fill the rest with London Pride? Do the two taste very similar? and, I had some Fuller's...

I like your approach Cass, but I like the big attacks too. Basically, any pressure for change is good, attack on all fronts! The nobeerstore petition, which I think was named incorrectly, actually just called for competition to the beer store, not the closing of the LCBO stores and The Beer Store. I...

I was surprisingly happy with the Kell's Lager I had the other day, and it made me think of what I read here. I thought I saw a complaint about the Hazelnut Brown in another posting as well, but I have had a couple now and enjoy it. The two aren't over the top for sure, but still quite enjoyable. I ...

nobeerstore.ca - any news?

Whatever happened to this...I've sent an email or two this year, no response.
Does someone else need to start it up again to try to make it an issue, in time for the next election at least?

I'd suggest looking for private investors on the bar towel, to anyone who wants to try to break new ground. 150 bar towelers at $10k each, or 75 at $20k each, or 15 with $100k each.
or more likely 15000 bar towelers with $100 each
