1) Since when is absolute profitability a mandate in this monopoly situation wherein the province already makes ALL the overall retail profit - ie. why go and monopolize if you aren't going to also be politically responsible about overall distribution and carry low-margin stuff as well as big dollar...

Oh thanks. I see La Terrible is in there to put the "North" into " N. American", super cool.inertiaboy wrote:Here's the list.
Hmm, quite a comprehensive and thoughtful selection. I wonder how you would sequence that many examples and styles... would be fun to try though.

Re: A Definite Forward Step for Beer
Ale Street News is co-sponsoring a Belgian beer tasting at the Chelsea Museum. Duvel and Ommegang are mentioned... it would be keen to know the full menu. Such 'tastings' would be great for trying a lot of beers while sparing the liver some punishment. I would be interested in more unusual beers ra...

According to Robert Hughey's column in the latest Great Lakes Brewing News, the Organic Lager will still be in the small bottles. I guess my moratorium on buying bottles is permanent now. :( Anyone from Mill Street wish to remark in the defense of this arcane marketing ploy? I have yet to buy one T...

Plus we can't buy these fricking animals over here. All of the importers in this province run scared everytime someone even mentions the the words traditional lambic.... Well... let's pause to give thanks to our puzzled and paranoid lab-testing Province, which doesn't know what to make of these unu...

I am being a little hyperbolic here for the sake of Volo, agreed. If someone at NOW had googled BEER TORONTO and then checked out BT for five minutes, they would have seen a fuller picture, but this clearly did not happen in preparing the 'best beer' section. No wonder these days more people are pic...

I've joked with a number of friends that the Good Beer Guide to Toronto would be a post it note with Volo being the only pub listed, hope I can add Victory to said post it note Don't joke, don't joke... The Bars/ Beers feature in NOW last Thursday mentioned most of the usual suspects and yet EXCLUD...

...in the past is that Bartowelers, in my opinion anyway, did not seem to put their money where their mouth (posts) were. But in the past year or so, I see more and more folks who are willing to put up the cash... This is exactly why I wonder if the Great Divide order will ever materialize, from th...

JI can't imagine why you would not open the bottle. It has no commercial value, it is likely a very average beer, with presumably low to no carbonation (seeps out of the cork with time)..... Stop losing sleep over the question, open it up and drink it. I highly doubt the product will warrant all th...
