I think it's wonderful that Peter offers world-class stuff like Celebrator, and various belgians you can't find otherwise. I've only ever ordered a single case from Esprit but it was painless and fun. Many of these beers hold quite a long time so having some big cases around makes sense, whether via...

As someone who has travelled to Belgium a number of times, I can attest to the fact that it's a matter of choice. Europeans can seem almost downright relaxed. I picture some guy in the countryside just pouring his belgian beer and not giving a flying crap how much lees sediment gets in the glass. H...

Good points. I've noticed also that long-term settling of beer seems to settle out more of the solids that you would have happily drank in the first place were they still suspended in liquid. I had five-year-old Rochefort 8 that was almost too thin, yet the bottle sediment was dark, rich and aromati...

... But I had to chime in to say that anyone who drinks and enjoys a Westmalle Tripel just a couple of weeks after becoming interested in good beer deserves a big thumbs up. May you discover and enjoy many more! Yes, that is a nice leap ahead. Welcome Rich. I find that handling beer you just get us...

...I often see has 10 to 20 cases coming out of a cab or trunk and I regularly see a mix of Laker and Lakeport. This business was formerly Molbatt biz and has got to be driving them nuts. I am deeply enjoying that scenario right now. Thank you. What I really like is that someone, anyone with means,...

...The LCBO has a pretty strong monopoly remember? I think most of us BarTowelers understand the conspiracy here... In reference to all of your post... I am sure there are some really intelligent people in the LCBO system who have some contact with reality. Some are obviously less in touch. There i...

Well not liking the CS is not liking it, sure. I read up on Chicory and it has some damn healthy properties eg. it cleanses the liver. This sure isn't a manistream classic style of beer but not everything was always so mainstream in beer, one can argue. Al Beerblogger, you sure Barrack Street doesn'...

The Chicory Stout was damn good as a standard session stout. Common people, it's nothing that makes your head spin like other DFH stuff (or other hardcore U.S. micros) but it was a nice beer. Too bad people get their shorts in a bind over the name, Chicory is just one subtle herbal ingrediant in th...

Good notes threre, the sterling items at LC get taken for granted because, well, they're always there... Just imagine, we'd be going nuts for them if we never saw the amazing Schneider Aventinus Weizenbock or exquisite Chimay Premiére at LC, and then they materialized for a short seasonal release......
