Blood Brothers Brewing
Another brewery in the west end, this one near Dufferin and Dupont (Actually Westmoreland and Geary). Easy street parking on Geary. I believe the bottle shop opened this week-end. They don't have a tasting license as of yet, but the "brother" who was there told me they are working on it. V...

Re: Indie Ale House
What relation would this beer have to the beer of the same name released in 2014? Was that a blend of different vintages too? I'm guessing this is the type of beer that would be a little different each time they make it? It is not a style I have had a huge amount of, and certainly not different vint...

Re: Best non-Toronto, non-LCBO breweries?
The strangest beer that I had that I enjoyed was from 5 Paddles and was called something like Grandma's Back Yard and was a pale ale flavoured with basil. It had a nice anise astringency that worked well with the malts. . I'm with you on this one. It is actually called Italian Backyard. The bottles...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
this is showing stock now, anyone try it? TBW 6 BOROUGHS RYE PORTER LCBO 438093 | 500 mL bottle Price: $ 7.95 It's actually quite good. I wouldn't age this more than this year to be honest, everything is pretty smooth. Four roses really comes through when it gets warmer. I will pile on... Had this ...

Re: Best non-Toronto, non-LCBO breweries?
I've enjoyed what i have had from Beyond The Pale and Dominion City in Ottawa. I've only ever received their beers from trading partners though; I've never visited. My last visit to Block 3 in St. Jacobs made me think that they have significantly improved their product over the past year. I'm lookin...

Re: Great Lakes
Hours aside, I just wish they would actually update that list of availably beers they have now on their website. It is often two to three days out of date. I mean, they always seem to have a guy at the computer cash register when I visit. It would take no more than five minutes to update the list as...

Oops. I meant Second Fiddle Double IPA. The aroma of 1 Up had me remembering Second Fiddle.

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Block Three 1 Up IIPA. Really surprisingly good. I was underwhelmed last time I tried beers from these guys. This one is very good and almost reminds me of Double Fiddle. I should have bought more than a few bottles...

Re: The Bellwoods Brewery Release Thread
I was surprised to see a bit of a longer line than most releases at 11 AM this morning. Barn Owl Bottles indicate 3472 in total, so with the 4 bottle limit I'm guessing there will still be many on Saturday.

Re: Pittsburgh PA
I don't remember ever being asked about alcohol when crossing into the US border. The few times I have set up IP trades down there I have only brought down 5 or 6 bottles at most though. I think I brought down a couple Motley Crus, a couple Hellwoods and one each of Thrust, Headstock and Lone Pine. ...

Re: Pittsburgh PA
If not worth a visit, Draai Laag has some interesting sours. Hit or miss for sure, but if you are lucky enough to find a Red, Blue or Black Briar (or set up a trade with a local through BA as I did) you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed Fat Heads. Church Brew works has a nice location, but middlin...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Yesterday at Indie Ale House: Furlong Saison (passable) Shapeshifter (the barrel works well here. Very enjoyable. Looking forward to tasting the bottles I bought up at Amsterdam) Breakfast Porter Shotgun Wedding (Sour barrel aged Cantaloupe blonde ale) I don't much like cantaloupe to begin with and ...

Continuing the IPA kick:
Yellow Dog Play Dead IPA (Excellent)
Bellwoods Double Nelson IIPA (too bad it is likely a one-off as this is the best IIPA I think I've had from Bellwoods).
