Funny though, that it was actually the initiative of the Dutch Embassy that got this thing brewed. Maybe we should let them run the LCBO. And the Belgian Embassy could take over TBS! :-) Actually, that's pretty cool. Wonder who the Dutch beer fan is who dreamed up this idea. I finally made it to th...

They've FINALLY opened up the second floor for business. There is now a bar on the 2nd floor and a small patio overlooking Duluth. When were you last there? I thought it had been like that for 4-5 years now? That could be. It's always been roped off when I've been there. I just assumed it wasn't in...

Yeah, talk of it has been hidden in a couple of the other threads. Good stuff, my review's up on the Reviews forum. Had a run at it yet BP? No, and I walked right by there the other day without even knowing about it. Is the Beaus served only during the events or can I go anytime? I've never been to...

Beau's Vrienden - collaboration with De Koningshoeven

From the Beau's website: "To commemmorate the 65th anniversary of liberation of The Netherlands by Canadian troops, this special beer was commissioned by the Dutch embassy. A collaborative effort with De Koningshoeven brewery, this cloudy wheat beer uses organic juniper berries and maple syrup ...

I followed my own advice this past weekend in Montreal by eating at Reservoir and drinking at DdC (and Reservoir, Vices and Versa and Benelux for that matter!). The food at Reservoir is as good as ever (steak tartare, salmon fish and chips). They've FINALLY opened up the second floor for business. T...

I checked out Broue Ha Ha the other day. They had quite a few beers not sold in some of the other stores around Gatineau. The tasting of the day turned out to be La Tour a Bieres from Chicoutimi. Other things that I don't see too much around here included A La Fut, Durham and Broadway. I don't reall...

There appears to be a tasting (Brasseurs du Saguenay) today (May 14) from 4pm to 9pm and tomorrow from 11am to 5pm. See the "degustations" page on the site. Looks like they be having tastings on a regular basis.

I had a pint the other day at the new Kent street location. It is apparently a rye beer. Wasn't too impressive. Maybe Roggenbier?
