Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

Suppin' a great value Priorat wine tonight; Clos Roja Balanced Finish 2009. Bags of cherry, strawberry, blueberry & blackberry, with a hint of dark chocolate. Velvety tannins, with a lovely cherry like acidic finish. And all for $22.00. It's comparable, in quality, to the $35.00 Priorat we bring...

I recall the Brew Dog guys doing this when they brewed for their San Francisco episode.

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

Had a bit of a celebration with work on Wednesday night; a birthday and a 10 year anniversary for 2 co workers. And a supplier in town. Any excuse for a few glasses of the good stuff. We opened the following: Domaine Carneros Brut Cuvee, just to start things off in the right mood Yalumba Eden Valley...

Re: Seattle?

I concur about Elysian Fields on a game day. I made the 'mistake' of going there after a baseball game BUT before a CONCACAF qualifying game featuring Mexico. Man, it was nuts there. Just managed to get a table in the bar, ordered a beer which came in a plastic cup. Ordered food, which took less tha...

As it's not really right to post a link to BA (is it?); here's an updated list of places to visit in Seattle from the NW Forum: (Almost) Universally Recommended "Must-Hit" Breweries (None have food but you can bring in food or purchase from food trucks outside) Fremont Brewing Reuben's Bre...

Well, if you're in downtown, and just one night for drinking, then best to grab a cab and get to Beer Revolution. They have their tap menu live on the website, so you at least know what to expect when you're there.

Bars to visit will be Beer Revolution in Oliver Square; Underground on Jasper Ave (right in downtown), and then just around the corner from there is CRAFT. There's also a great cocktail bar in between Underground & Craft; Woodwork. Worth a visit if you're into cocktails. Southside we have Sugarb...

Jonas, I should be impartial here, but Gerard puts out some good quality wines at a great price point. It's difficult sorting through his large portfolio, but this one is a definite winner from his stock.

Well, from the article itself, Crystal writes, "Just like on the hardcourt, our tournament will feature legendary names (Molson Canadian, Mill Street Organic), steady seniors (Alexander Keith’s, Labatt Blue) and underdogs just waiting to shock the world (Saison du Pinacle, Yukon Gold)." Pr...

A quick 'safety meeting' at work last night, and tried my fellow cork dorks on the following beers: Hofstettner Grantbock 2011 Harviestoun Orach Slie Deschutes The Dissident 2014 2 of our suppliers supply the barrels for both the Harviestoun & Deschutes beer, so that was a nice little link to ge...

Compare the Stone price to the same sized keg of Green Flash IPA, which is around $350, or a 50L keg from Anchor of their IPA which is $280.

Stone are definitely at the high end of pricing, and these prices are BEFORE the recent decline of the dollar.

Stone kegs are retailing for over $300. it's nuts. but i don't blame Stone. it's the stupid keg distribution system in Ontario. wish Tomas from Keep6 would come on and explain why Stone's so expensive. In the free market that is Alberta, kegs of Stone are nearer to $400.00 (wholesale), so thank you...

My CFO always locks in rates for Euros & US dollars. He was smart and we`ve locked in many thousands of US dollars at 1.14, otherwise we`d constantly be changing the prices of our products from the US and South America.
