BROUWERIJ VIVEN
The latest addition to our portfolio are the ales of Brouwerij Viven of Sijsele, Belgium. Founded in 1999, the don’t actually have their own brewery…yet. They plan to open a small brewhouse late in 2014. In the meantime, they have been brewing in collaboration with one of Europe’s finest brewmasters...

DE RANKE
Speaking of sour beers (other thread), those of you who subscribed to the De Ranke offer will be happy to know that the Kriek and Cuvee have arrived in Canada and are going through the system so it looks like we'll have them before Xmas. I did order a few extra so anyone interested in hopping on is ...

HISTORIC ALES FROM SCOTLAND
Actually, KELPIE was not supposed to be in the pack so if there are some out there it's probably because they ran out of one of the others. I'll check with the brewery. We're looking at the possiblity of bringing KELPIE in through Consignment as it's a natural for oyster places. Won't sell tons but ...

WINTER
Orval and Achel Bruin are simply late and will be released to stores as soon as they arrive. Orval will probably be first and Achel will not be out until the new year. They are not General List.

HOLIDAY GIFTS
It seems I was fed a bill of goods when I was told my 4 gift submissions were rejected because of excessive non-alchohol components. A paper gift package and a glass were apparently excessive and, in one case, a simple gift carton with no glass was deemed excessive. The pricing matrix we are given i...

ROCHEFORT 8 LCBO #676569
After what seems like forever, our latest order of Rochefort 8 has arrived and should start hitting LCBO stores any day now. 480 cases arrived but there are store back orders of 200 already and I'll be buying a chunk for our bar customers so it'll be gone quickly.

DISCREPANCIES
The alcohol discrepancies are just that...the brewery labels an alcohol content and the LCBO tests (using gas chromatographs which no brewery probably has) and find's there is a discrepancy. A variance up to +/-0.5% is allowed. Anything over that must be re-labelled at a cost to the supplier/agent o...

BROWERIJ DE RANKE
This renowned Belgian brewery is the latest addition to our portfolio. We are offering to take advance orders for the following beers: KRIEK DE RANKE – This is an unusual co-operation between De Ranke and well known lambic producer, Girardin. A 7% ale produced from a blend of De Ranke’s sour pale al...

GIFT PACKS
We submitted 5 Belgian gift packs to the LCBO and all 5 were rejected. It now seems that exessive packaging and non-alcohol related items (glasses) are no longer welcome even though these were the core of previous Holiday gift items. I am very interested in seeing what they did buy. Looks like they ...
