Bandit Brewery

Bandit Brewery has just opened their doors for a soft launch this week. http://www.banditbrewery.ca/ They're on Dundas between the bridge over the railway tracks and where Dundas hits Roncesvalles. Really nice space they've put together. Yes, yes, it's lots of Edison bulbs, but it makes for a very p...

Re: Goose Island Brewpub

Went to the Goose Island pub at O'Hare Airport. It was shit. Hopefully, this is not the same. Well, to be fair there...have you ever been impressed by any airport bar or restaurant? I know I haven't. New Belgium in Denver has a perfectly respectable brewpub. The GI in O'Hare has some of the least c...

Re: Rainhard Brewing

Just had the Broggen Dreams rye lager. It was super weird and overly malty. I was pretty excited for it, and I think it's probably the worst beer I've had from Rainhard. Anyone else try it?

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Agreed. I refuse to buy an IPA if I can't read the date code, or know when it was packaged through social media. That goes double for imported stuff from USA. I think my local LCBO staff must hate me. They have two flats of Headstock on the shelf. The one on top is something like 3 months old, and ...

Re: Her Father’s Cider Bar + Kitchen

I used to dismiss ciders up until recently. That was before I discovered some magically funky, sour, and deep French/Spanish farmhouse ciders. There's a great place in SF for this: http://www.upcidersf.com Sadly, even the very best ciders (like the wonderfully sour crabapple one I had a year ago) in...

Hands down the all-time fave. I had it when it made a reappearance on tap a couple months ago. I'm still kicking myself for not having more. Bit nervous about them rebranding it as a farmhouse...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

http://bellwoodsbrewery.com/a-dupont-update-a-word-on-hafis/ Very few of you know that in order to attempt to deal with the delays at Dupont we’re currently building a third brewery. No, we are not crazy, (or at least this is what we tell ourselves). Glad they officially shared. I let this news sli...

If interesting things appear, please post here. I don't really want a full case of anything, but am very happy to split with fellow BT members.

Re: Burdock Brewing

the west coast pilsner is sick. totally not your typical pils. I agree...I'm normally pretty "meh" on Pilsners, but theirs was quite good. Although I noticed a rather large difference between tap and bottle with tap being much better. Perhaps it was the age, as the hops seemed rather weak...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

How long has TBS had the Smuttynose Finestkind? Just spotted today, when getting a bunch of Delerium. I first got it on November 14, at Donlands-O'Connor. Haha, that explains a bit staleness from the hops I just had. My bottles are marked to expire on March 9. Wish I knew about it beforehand. Still...

Re: worst Ontario beer of 2015?

Blood Brothers' Inner IPA (? -- was brought to a party we held, I didn't see the tag but was told it was their IPA) -- tasted young, infected, or both. No one defended it, and at least two people dumped their fifths. I would second this. I read that it was a brett IPA, which might explain why you g...

i don't like Beau's. No one i know likes Beau's. but i can assure you that their following is one of the strongest in Ontario. i haven't seen the numbers, but i wouldn't be shocked if they aren't far behind GLB in terms of LCBOsales. maybe even ahead. You couldn't say it better. I don't like Beau's...

Re: Stone Coffee Milk

Drinking Stone Coffee Milk Stout , I'm always impressed with the great flavors and (how can I put it?) the exact structure of Stone's Stouts. Not to hype this one too much since it is on the easy-going side, but it's really well put together and exactly the kind of thing I hope to see from Stone. T...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Unexpected? Or are we getting this instead of the lagunitas maximus peensteen previously mentioned? Lagunitas IPA LCBO#: 433516 | 6 x 355 mL bottle $14.95 a six pack and another beer that will be "Stone Beered" in other words. "left to age gracefully" According to the LCBO site:...
