Best Food Rec's at Top Beer Places

Post by Belgian »

Since we're discussing Caffe Volo, BeerBistro etc,

...can you comment on what you consider standout or 'regular go-to' items from any the food menus?

There's no accounting for taste but clearly some items (like the Bistro burger) are so popular and it's always better to order your $12 beer with something really great (hopefully complimenting the food.)

I have enjoyed the BB burger a couple times, I like that it comes with frites now. (I dislike that my brain always thinks its a cheap meal, which at $15 its not - though reasonable) I also like the stew and pizzas there.

I like the burgers and pita plates at C'est What.

Mushroom pasta at Volo was damn good.

Man, I could go for a good mushroom pasta. (Fairly Tuscan I hope.)

Thanks for the tips, JerCraigs,

JK.

Don't forget places like the Rebel House. Although it's more restaurant than bar - the premium (read: patio) seats are for the food patrons only.

Try Ciro's at Bloor & Lansdowne for some great and very well priced stir fries.

Not to mention HUGE portions!

Sheryl got a stir-fry there once, had her fill, and took the rest home where the remainder (with a salad) made a meal for both of us.

They also do fantastic fish & chips there. The use a beer batter with dill in the mixture. My mouth is watering just thinking about it...
